yeah, I want to navigate that nightmare.....pass
Large cities are usually considered "positive" destinations for stuff like this. Big East in MSG, for example.
As far as Atlanta, specifically: it's a regular on the NCAA/F4 rotation. And the SEC holds a football game there every year. They've had pretty good success with that. A couple of Super Bowls, etc.
But I admit Atlanta is not for everybody. Biloxi may be a better fit.
Well, now that Tulane is on it's way out... use New Orleans for the big city.
I've said it before, although we no longer have Memphis in the lineup... I'd originally been in favor of an El Paso - New Orleans - Insert 3rd city (Biloxi/Pensacola/Atlanta/Nashville/etc.) - Memphis lineup rotation.
Now that we no longer have Memphis, put an eastern city (Norfolk?) as the 4th city (to replace Memphis)
hadn't considered that....is a good idea....am biased to the home state, but that also works in scheme...
two in the south and two in the north in midsection....none on the outer barriers...
norfolk, nashville, biloxi, new orleans.....that would be pretty good
don't take offense UTEP....your fan base is top notch...but hardly anyone will make that trip
I think New Orleans would be the ideal neutral site for C-USA but the Sun Belt already uses that city for it's tournament. How does the SBC do attendance-wise? I know they have ULL close by and USA, ULM not far.
C-USA would have LTU, USM, Rice fairly close.

I can guarantee you if Isaac Hamilton had chose to honor his National Letter of Intent instead of backing out UTEP wouldn't be in this position right now!

Bring it. The next meeting will be in "Floydville", not "Tyndall Town". Plus, we'd get USM in the QF's (2nd game of tourney for UTEP). I don't believe fatigue will be as much a factor on Thursday as do you. Still, UTEP will need to first focus on ECU/UTSA.
any moniker that includes "dude", abides in my book...
it's why we play the game, right?

That may open up some options.
Also, I wonder if they could set up an "arena" in Nashville's new convention center ? For the women's tourney, that is.
I mean this all earnest....I really don't care about women sports at this level....and I only have one daughter...
There is nothing appealing about titties bouncing the ball...sorry, just the way I see it...it's nothing more that slow motion styling....this is sport....nothing more and nothing less....females offer less in this arena
disclaimer: unless they bounce...
Have you seen a game lately? Women's basketball has made huge strides in the last decade. It's much more competitive and the athletes are much better.
should I answer honestly.....hmmmmmm
let's just say no, I have not...and when the wnba or ncaa women's game pops up....it's an immediate channel flip...just the way it is for me....
If I have to go to that level to enjoy sport.....I'm crying uncle, and will cuss title IX to the hilt....

Last night's game was called very poorly. If you read the Tulsa World article on winning the championship they mention that the refs chose to be very 'involved' in last nights game. I think there were 50 fouls and 65 free throws...
I don't think that would be where we get upset... if anywhere it would be against MTSU.

ODU got a favorable draw. Of the five "favorites" MT is the one I was hoping to get. La Tech, Southern Miss and UTEP all cruised past ODU in Norfolk....Tulsa beat ODU by 39.
ODU had to play at MT on a Saturday after fighting through Winter Storm (Leon) to play UAB two days earlier. Which placed a strain on travel and they were flat. I would expect that they want to run that one back. No disrespect to MT.

This is the first year New Orleans will host the Sun Belt; in years past, it was in Hot Springs, AR and UALR, ASU, MT, and WKU all traveled decent to those games.

I don't know about that. Especially if ECU plays like they did last night at ODU.
On a serious note: ECU has a history of playing well in tournaments (CUSA, CIT and NIT), so I wouldn't be surprised if ECU had a little run in the CUSA tournament because Lebo's teams are really hard to game plan for on short notice and a few hot shooter can carry ECU through. The problem for ECU is that they are always on the same side of the bracket as the host school (Memphis, Tulsa last year, Duke this year and now UTEP) and the fan support that the host school gets sometimes ends up being the difference.

I'm confused. As far as I can tell you've only ever won 2 conference tournaments in your history in 1972 and 1993 which got you NCAA births. You've never been invited to the NIT according to your wikipedia page. ECU has only ever advanced past round 1 in a postseason tourney 1 time (last year in the CIT)
1972- NCAA 1st round
1993- NCAA 1st round
2011- CIT 1st round
2013- CIT Chumps

Well the biggest win in ECU's history was putting that very talented overall number 1 seed UAB team out of the CUSA tournament a couple of years back. That was like a national title for ECU fans, because UAB was just so very talented and was a national title contender.

Yeah only a UAB fan would believe that their school was the biggest win in ECU's basketball history.
