"Pensacola Bay Center" opened in 1985 and while it was nice for 1985, I honestly don't know if it's been well-maintained, or not.
Also, I'd be doubtful if Pensacola has a lot of direct flights from many C-USA locations. (Biloxi: fly to New Orleans)

Southwest to PCB (a little less than 2-hour drive)

yeah, but there has to be some type of local interest.....p-cola doesn't have the full part of the 'it' equation....
the ms gulf coast is far enough to deter the 'home' factor while also providing the allure of a spring break vacation site for those looking at the other illusions than the games....
nobody wants to travel to atlanta....once was twice too many....
yeah, I want to navigate that nightmare.....pass

We just gotta win.
I mean I'd understand it if we were leaving the conference.
if it makes you feel better (figure of speech b/c it won't make you feel better) but we are coming from a conf where the tourney was in Richmond, VA (i.e - mere blocks from VCU's campus) every year. ODU and VCU were almost always in the top 4 and their students had the first crack at tickets so even if we weren't playing them their students would flood the arena a root against us. it was awful. I hate them so much.
I would really like to see the tournament moved to a neutral site.
have been saying this from day one....Biloxi is the perfect spot....strategically placed with all amenities for both gals and guys
I believe some upgrades to the Coast Coliseum would required and you also need a separate facility for the women's tournament.

Large cities are usually considered "positive" destinations for stuff like this. Big East in MSG, for example.
As far as Atlanta, specifically: it's a regular on the NCAA/F4 rotation. And the SEC holds a football game there every year. They've had pretty good success with that. A couple of Super Bowls, etc.
But I admit Atlanta is not for everybody. Biloxi may be a better fit.

all schools have a decent base in ATL...but to get the money based on travel is more important IMO....

IF we get by UTEP at home we have a good shot. But it's a tall order this season.

Has C-USA ever had the women's tourney separate from the men ?
That may open up some options.
Also, I wonder if they could set up an "arena" in Nashville's new convention center ? For the women's tourney, that is.

I mean this all earnest....I really don't care about women sports at this level....and I only have one daughter...
There is nothing appealing about titties bouncing the ball...sorry, just the way I see it...it's nothing more that slow motion styling....this is sport....nothing more and nothing less....females offer less in this arena
disclaimer: unless they bounce...

SEC just signed a long term deal to have either their men's or women's tournament in Nashville each year?

Well, now that Tulane is on it's way out... use New Orleans for the big city.
I've said it before, although we no longer have Memphis in the lineup... I'd originally been in favor of an El Paso - New Orleans - Insert 3rd city (Biloxi/Pensacola/Atlanta/Nashville/etc.) - Memphis lineup rotation.
Now that we no longer have Memphis, put an eastern city (Norfolk?) as the 4th city (to replace Memphis)

Norfolk is considering a bid...I believe. Also Va Beach is closer than ever before to building an 18k seat Oceanfront arena to host potential ACC Tournaments and NCAA games along with concerts.
Is that size of an arena to big/expensive for a CUSA Tournament?

hadn't considered that....is a good idea....am biased to the home state, but that also works in scheme...
two in the south and two in the north in midsection....none on the outer barriers...
norfolk, nashville, biloxi, new orleans.....that would be pretty good
don't take offense UTEP....your fan base is top notch...but hardly anyone will make that trip

Have you seen a game lately? Women's basketball has made huge strides in the last decade. It's much more competitive and the athletes are much better.

Bring it. The next meeting will be in "Floydville", not "Tyndall Town". Plus, we'd get USM in the QF's (2nd game of tourney for UTEP). I don't believe fatigue will be as much a factor on Thursday as do you. Still, UTEP will need to first focus on ECU/UTSA.

I absolutely agree. To compare the men's and women's teams at Miami, the women are a lot more athletic and they make a lot more "big" plays than the men (more blocks, huge threes, etc.). Matter of preference I suppose.

Hopefully, Michael Craig will be welcomed to "Floydville". He only played a few minutes, was only about 50% and contributed nothing to the first game.
