Uncle Lou's Fried Chicken is a hidden gem (featured on Diners, Drive In's, and Dives)
Huey's is good for those times when you just want a good burger and a beer.
If you stay in Tunica, try "The Hollywood". It's the actual place from the song "Walking in Memphis".

Is it still in the original location in Robertsonville? I used to go there a lot before the casinos came. I thought it had moved to another location. Or closed down altogether.

Used to have to call Mavis Love to get reservations.

Any good small venue music outside of Beale St these days? I'd love to find some good, authentic delta blues in a small venue not on Beale St. Also any good dancing spots that aren't focused on young folks?

Wild Bill's?

Center for Southern Folklore, 119 S. Main, frequently has performers.

I love seeing the folks my age dance at BB King's, esp. on the weekends when Will Tucker is playing.

All of the current casinos that most are familiar with are actually in the city of Robinsonville. Tunica is the county and a name of a very small town that does not have any casinos.

Just for the info, the name has officially been changed to Tunica Resorts, Mississippi.

Yes, I meant Robinsonville.

Seriously, is The Hollywood still there?

It was as recently as two years ago. I had lunch there in 2012.

Can't believe you guys missed one of the best places to eat in Memphis. Not far from downtown, close to the University.

I wasn't trying to be snarky. Just trying not to confuse visitors. I grew up with the Robinsons. Never been to the Hollywood.
