$95ea per season ticket for 5 home games is too high?

It can be for some when they cannot attend weeknight games. I'm not saying I have a problem with it (although only THREE Saturday home games - and in a row - is so stupid) but some may have a problem with it.

So what they are paying if you look at it like that is $95.00 for 3 games.

$95 for 3 games is still cheap by most standards for college foootball.

This isn't high school football where $5 and a canned good gets you in

Of course it is. And I'm not saying I have a problem with it. I was merely pointing out that a more casual fan MIGHT have a problem with it.

We want to increase season ticket sales...but with only 3 Saturday home games - and in a row at that - this probably will not be the year it happens. It is not the best way to entice new people. Just saying.

My only argument is whats a better selling strategy 1) make the product as bad as possible so there is no demand and prices are dirt cheap or 2) make the product desirable by scheduling a quality opponent once in awhile that increases demand but drives prices up a little.

Id much rather have 2). I don't care if I have to wait longer in the bathrooms or that Im not guaranteed the tailgaiting spot ive had since 1995. More interest and more fan support is a good thing, its worth the sacrifice of increasing the quality of the product you are selling.

RE: Why don't you buy season tickets
I would rather win and go to the playoffs then lose the first 3 games to "brand name teams"..

MD, I am open to all sort of opinions, and having built a successful business by 33 i have made my share of missteps. But your opinion would carry a lot more weight with me except I think you are the problem with the average NIU fan. You jump on and say how bad everyone is, how they aren't doing their job, but as a "fan" you don't buy season tickets, or donate...You show up for 2 games a year and a hugely discounted rate and then complain. I wouldn't be surprised to find out you were the moron sitting in front of me at MAC championship gaming yelling at NIU fans behind you(me) about how the fans were losing the game, we were the problem..And it took all I had to save my STFU comment for 3 quarters.

So to you..we get your point..you want high profile teams(so we can lose?) but you aren't willing to buy season tickets or donate to get them here..

It would cost us $500,000-1,500,000 to get a BCS team in here.. Not going to get there without an increase in donations and season ticket holders.

You obviously have not been around these parts long if you think I am one of those kind of fans.

Thanks for completely sidestepping the fact that you don't contribute in any fashion to NIU but expect them to hand out $750,000 so you can see Notre Dame..

I have had season tickets for 11 years lol, every since the Maryland game, that's why I bought them, from the excitement of that night. And I got to at least 3 away games a year but usually 4

A lot easier to beat those high profile teams at home.

AMEN and it doesn't even have to be Wisconsin, or Nebraska or some outrageous opponent, Im just talking about the Iowa State, Marylands, Indianas, Missouris, Minnesotas of the world. If we cant do even 1/4th of what Toledo is accomplishing on this front recently, I mean where exactly are we as a football program. Being 25% of Toledo doesn't sound like too lofty of a goal to me, and I hope it isn't for Frazier.

I agree but they aren't coming here without a large check(funds we don't have). unless we start to suck again then they will come here for a smaller check

So you aren't insane as you come off... all this time I thought you were talking about SEC top 5, ACC top 3 teams...

Iowa St, Indiana, Kansas, Georgia Tech, Duke, NC St, BC... i think are teams that would be willing to play, again for some money or some 1-1s

We should charge double per ticket for that game to make that large check.

No SEC team is coming to a MAC stadium....that is without their coach being an ex coach of the MAC team...aka (Mizzu/Toledo). I think a game in SF is a possibility though vs Tenn/Georgia/Arkansas/Auburn if they still have an 8 games conf schedule, their 3 other OOC games are at home and they need a little SOS boost with an away game...but don't want to play another P5 team.

Rutgers now in the B1G will already get exposure in Chicago and they will be getting so there is no point for them to play in DeKalb.

Any P5 team that comes to DeKalb will now only do it for enough money on top of exposure in the Chicagoland.

Our most likely opportunities for P5 teams in DeKalb are teams that don't get to play in our area with any frequency...
Colorado, Utah, Washington, Washington St, Arizona, Cal, Kansas, Kansas St, TCU, TT, ISU, Baylor, West Virginia, Louisville, BC, NC St, WF, Syracuse, Duke, Miami FL, UNC, Pitt, Virginia & VT.

ACC teams who will now play at ND will obviously be less interested in a game with us so that will limit the opportunity window vs those teams.
