GameWeek: Toledo
This is a big game, esp. for Toledo, as there is still heated competition for top seeding and the two game byes. Should be a high intensity game, at least for Toledo.

EMU and Ohio are tied for fifth so Saturday is about seeding for us.

Anyone prefer the #5 seed opponents vs. the #6 seed opponents?

The game is listed for ESPN3 and ESPN's FullCourt (available on DirecTV). This is a Time Warner cable production so it should also be available across most of the Midwest.

If you have been kicked out of 19 games, you are probably a hot-headed moron. That is all

RE: GameWeek: Toledo
As it stands right now, I'd MUCH rather hold the 6 seed as opposed to the 5. We match up amazingly well against CMU and BGSU if we see them, and Miami is a game that doesnt scare me in the least bit either.

On the flip side, if we were to grab the 5 seed (as it now stands) we would possibly face off against kent or NIU, and really, I want to avoid NIU at all cost...

Should be a fun game in Savage this weekend, and im thinking about making a trip down there.... I've never been. Is it a pretty good venue to watch a game ? Good atmosphere ?

I think you are incorrect on us being #5.

We are tied with Ohio for #5, but they beat us head to head so they'd hold the tie breaker.

I agree about not wanting to play NIU again. Root canals, colonscopies, playing NIU, etc. are things one normally would rather avoid, if possible... 03-lmfao

Of course, I know how the rest of the MAC feels about us: Playing EMU is about as much fun as getting a root canal... etc. 03-idea

Maybe, some opposing coaches would rather have the root canal.

Were you by any chance wearing a green shirt with a big 'E' on it? Sitting in the student section...?

I guess I just didnt word that correctly. I know right now we are a six, but we have a possibility of jumping up to 5... so I was just giving both scenarios and the positives and negatives of both.

That's good because Toledo fans are eagerly searching out a 40 year beer drinking fan with a EMU T Shirt.

That's good because Toledo fans are eagerly searching out a 40 year beer drinking fan with a EMU T Shirt. He rode down with me and didn't drink any beer he had a mountain Dew. And Toledo fans have said and shouted a lot worse but since there are
ore of them they get away with.

Please share some examples of Toledo fans bad behavior. Nobody I know has ever been tossed out of a game nor have I see it happen. Maybe Im missing something. Maybe I just hang with a good crowd?

I as a fan would never get tossed for the soul reason of that i would not do anything to jeopardize missing the rest of a Rockets game. Screaming at the refs is not supporting your team. I guess thats just my opinion and to each his own

"they" are not lecturing you. Toledo fans are not a unified entity acting as one. one individual is lecturing you.

how many Toledo fans have you seen acting like jerks? you've been going to sporting events for 20 years, and you go to a lot, so maybe 100? 200? how many Toledo fans have you seen in public? assuming you've gone to most of the football games between the two teams, you've seen 100,000s. drawing a conclusion about an entire population based on the actions of <.01% is ignorant. i guarantee that we have an equal percent of fans acting like jerks at our sporting events. If a first time visitor runs into one of them, it would be nice if they didn't judge all of us based on the action of that individual. we should probably extend the same courtesy to other fanbases.

I didn't see this happen...only read about it on the Toledo game thread on the stampede (one of the last pages).

Apparently a Toledo fan was being fairly obnoxious towards one or more persons in the WMU section last week. Something occurred and at least one or two people were escorted out. While I'm sure this happens at most MAC venues, I just thought it was ironic that another board referenced Toledo fans.

Just stopping in to stir the pot. Go EMU this weekend!

I don't scream and I've heard many a fan scream from the visitor section in the convo at the refs and most if not all say a lot worse than me. I don't like to yell at the refs and only do so when they seem to take sides. I was at one BG women's game where they only called one foul on BG the inter game and that was in the last minute. I heard many fans last night yelling at the refs from the section so don't give me that holier than this trash. It is just there are more of you but I'm much louder than most people.

I for most part cheer for my team and don't yell at the refs unless are just down right terrible and then if it is only one sided terrible. If the bad calls are going both ways I'm OK with that. I keep track of most of the calls and know who is doing or isn't doing what. One time this ref made 16 straight calls against and didn't make one call against Toledo not one! Not a foul, not a travel not even an out of bounds call!
