Cards proving they are the class of the American. They'll have earned that 1 seed. Hoping we can get the 2 seed and meet them again.

BTW just an absurd game from Russ Smith. Having maybe the best individual half I've seen all year.

Russ Smith is putting on a show in the second half. SMU fell apart without their starting pg.

Looked like SMU assistant coach Eric Snow had some words for Pitino about the way that game ended.

Did you hear that SMU crowd the entire game? They deserved about 100 more of those dunks

Yes, because they did something no one has done. They went into Moody and crushed. If you're being honest with yourself, UofL is better. Not by a bunch, but they are more complete. Now, they may drop the ball at home against UConn, but I'd say that's unlikely. They are the reigning national champs.

We beat UL at Louisville and Memphis at Memphis. UL did not do that

That's a pretty silly argument. Whether you can beat SMU twice isn't what determines who is a better team. UC did something UofL couldn't in not getting swept by anyone in conference - that seems at least as important as winning in Dallas. In terms of straight wins and losses, their resume is strikingly similar to UC's (UofL's margin of victory in their wins is higher, for what that is worth).

Sorry, much respect to UofL but I don't think they're clearly better than us. In fact I think their holes are worse than ours. We played utterly awful at times during the game at the shoe, got horrible officiating and still found a way to nearly win that game. I'd like our chances against them in a game 3. I wouldn't say that about a team who I felt was simply better than us.

The argument is really pretty even. Conference record is even. UC beat UofL on the road. UofL beat UC on the road. UC won at Memphis. UofL won at SMU. UC didn't get swept by anyone in the conference. UofL is the only team in the conference to win at UConn, at UC, at SMU. The only reason one might favor UofL at this point is their recent postseason success relative to UC, which can easily be changed this year. Different teams, different season. Should be a fun month.

I'd also say that UL doesn't have nearly as questionable of an offense as UC does.

By the stats UL is the 3rd most efficient offense in the nation where-as UC is 98th.
Offensive Rankings

UC's defense will keep them in most every game but when thier offense is struggling, as it does fairly regularly, each game against a decent team can be a toss up.

IMO I think the 2 seed works better for us anyway,I would rather play SMU in the semi's rather than winner of uconn-memphis especially since tourney is in memphis!!!

If they are as good as you say ... they really underachieved. Same record as that awful UC team (that's sarcasm). I expect more from the reigning NC.
