A little fortunate with that DP to end the inning. Surprised Wayne left Chase in there to turn over their lineup again, but I guess he is trying to stretch him a bit to save the pen for the weekend. With a 5 run lead, he can take that risk.

McDowell still in. All-star stop of a hard grounder by Sback to get 4-3 out. Then a 5-3 out, then a single.

Well, that got more difficult than it needed to. As I said, interesting choice of McCanna. Wonder if he still starts Sunday?

He still could (unless he closes this game out), but I still think Duplantier is going to get the start.

I forgot his work was limited last weekend in relief of Jordan.

Solid, and a quality start (despite the relatively high number of baserunners)-- just what we needed. We now need to close this one out without dramatics. This is a HUGE game from a mental standpoint-- what with the Minute Maid disappointment and the injury news (Stephens, Hoelscher). Time to come together as a team.

Leadoff 3-0 count ends in K. McCanna having some trouble finding zone. Next AB grounds out. Then single. Runner advances on E2 pickoff attempt. Then walk. Then single to load bases.

New Kat pitcher, Holbert. Cook fly LF, then LF great catch to prevent Aquino double, then Ewing K'd on three pitches.
