What if? (More 2014 hoops?)
I know we are going down and play great and win the game at Gulf Coast but what if the worst happens and we lose the game. Would we be eligible for any of the post-season tournaments like the CBI and CIT?

RE: What if?
Yes...if anyone will take ETSU. Remember...the ASun maybe gaining respect....but getting at large bids to anything is nearly impossible. ETSU doesn't have the reputation it once had to even be considered. This team doesn't have a super superstar (apologies to Rashawn) and television exposure ETSU does not have. I would be shocked but elated if ETSU showed up in any tournament other than the NCAA....but let me be clear...the NCAA is the place to be!

RE: What if?
We had 22 wins when we were selected to the CIT, Mercer had 22 wins when they were selected and won in 2012. I think we would need at least 3-4 more wins to have been considered for any of these lower-level tournaments. I mean, we are the 4th best team in a 1 bid league.

I hope so. Those CIT games a few years ago were a blast.

The only for-sure qualification for these postseason tournaments that I know of is that you have to be above .500, which we will qualify for. However, as far as getting picked, i have no idea how they pick from the crop of teams above .500. We do have some decent mid-major wins under our belt (SFA, Valpo, Gulf Coast) to help our cause.

RE: What if?
I would have thought an invitation to one of the other tournaments unlikely but perhaps not.......home game unlikely though apparently due to costs involved and doubt the A-Sun will be terribly interested in helping to pay the bill this time around.

CIT could be ETSU's consolation | Johnson City Press

Interesting article. I guess the money question would put us on the road if we were in it. I did not know that the conference picked up part of the bill last year. If we could draw 4000 per game at $12 per that would generate $48000 and a small profit but probably not worth it. Those home games were enjoyable though.

RE: What if?
I don't think ETSU has had a paid attendance of 4000 in 9 years. The paid aterndance of 2500 was correct. Counting the non paying ETSU students, total was approx .3200. They won't draw 4000 paying for a CIT game. Basketball attendance has been sliding downhill for years.

Yes that is exactly why we will not get a home game if we get in the tournament.

KGG seems pretty confident in a recent tweet that we will be playing in the CIT.

I loved the CIT games and am ashamed to admit I like that tourney better than the NCAA tourney. Seems like, over all, the games are much more competitive in CIT.

Just looking at the SoCon teams that could qualify...I wouldn't mind a game at UTC, Wofford, or Western.

Coach talked about it in the post game interview. He mentioned playing a home game. I wonder if that is even being considered?

This is all just from memory but Jay asked him about one of the post season tournaments and he indicated there had been some communication with a couple of them. I think the one he was really talking about was the CIT that we were in a few years ago. He said he really wanted to do it but that it was totally in the hands of two people, i.e., Drs. Noland and Sander. I would love to be able to see another home game. We could see more of the development of Devin hopefully.

RE: What if?
I think what that means in the CIT wants us if we'll pay to host home games.

Yes I think that is exactly what it means. I think it would be great to host the games if could we work it out financially.

I'm not sure after a record number of home games and Murry's job up in the air if we'll see any more games.

RE: What if?
It appears we are NOT DONE this season. From twitter a few minutes ago...

@DocSander30: Feeling the Bucs r going to be playing more basketball in the dome in 14. Coaches, players and fans earned an encore after Tuesday night.
