Temple Participating In Coaches Vs Cancer Next Season
Temple, Duke, Stanford and UNLV will be competing in a 4 team tournament in Brooklyn next year. Should be a lot of fun.

Temple's the only team out of that group without an NCAA title, maybe they should be replaced.

Y'all have beat Duke recently. If you can win vs them and UNLV that would really make a strong case for Temple's OOC. We'll need that next year if y'all are near the top of the conference.

Who could forget that historic 1942 Stanford championship... Really? That is the reason you came up with? If you are going to trash talk wouldn't you start with how bad a year we are having this year? You really are going to bring up championships when you have one in 1942?

No rest for the weary Temple. Need to step up in time for next year. Will be a tough event.

This is not unexpected. Temple always likes to play a tough OOC schedule to prepare for the season ahead, it’s not uncommon to have a couple OOC games against top 10 programs on the schedule.

I love college basketball and while I will be sad to see the year end, I will be happy to see this clunker in the rearview mirror and moving down to road to what will (hopefully) be back to a normal basketball season. I’ll admit it, I’m spoiled, if it’s not a 20+ win season, beating ranked opponents, and the team with a real chance at the NCAA it’s just a failed effort.

Was hoping SMU would have been in one of the Brooklyn tournaments (Coaches vs Cancer, Legend's). Would have giving Larry Brown a chance to come home to Brooklyn. . . Oh well!

The problem is that those tournament fields are put together years in advance when they wouldn't have known that SMU would be this good.

Don't worry, NYCTUFan... This isn't the Nbigeast... AAC lights remain on... Next up football.

Sorry couldn't resist 04-cheers

Couldn't find a listing for the Legends Tournament in Brooklyn. . . Know they had Houston, Texas Tech, Stanford, and Pitt this year. Tournament is around Thanksgiving in Brooklyn after the 1st two rounds at campus sites. But, the tournament is promoted by the same group that does the Coaches vs Cancer Tournament

I understand. It’s just in the past 6 years a sometimes ok, sometimes not ok football season was followed by a solid, entertaining basketball season which included a real chance to win the conference, a real chance to win the conference tournament, and a rooting interest in the NCAA. It made the long dry spell between the spring football game in early April and the first football game in late August much more bearable.

Coming off the 2 train wrecks this year it’s making it that much tougher to be the eternal optimist moving into the spring.

Even with just this one bad season, this level of play feels like a lifetime ago. Again, i said it before, i'm spoiled.
