Because Purifoy deserves his own thread.
Purifoy was mentioned in another thread, but I thought he deserved better...so here I go..
Purifoy IMO is a good Blazer, he stayed when he could have left and maybe ( raise your hands if you have seen this movie before ) was asked to leave, but I am not trying to assume here just making observations on Purifoy.
Purifoy will graduate, he played his role even though he had to believe he could have contributed more, he didn't embarass his family, UAB or the team.
And what ever the problem, reason for his lack of PT, we can say its been handled well, because it isnt talked about much and doesnt appear to be a distraction.
But even when injuries are happening all around the team, and we need another season player in a close game, Purifoy cannot get off the bench hmmmmm.
For some reason he disappeared from being an option and Coach Hasse instead decided to give any minutes Purifoy was getting to Madison.
Madison is not what the thread is about so, I will stay with Purifoy and just say, Madison is doing and is going to do good things for the Blazers.
I will be happy for Purifoy on senior night, maybe more then for some of our other seniors because IMO he's shown class by staying when he could have left, going thru what had to be a terrible senior year for him personally, enduring and more likely becoming stronger for it.
Good luck to all our seniors but Purifoy will stand out for not what he did, but in some strange way for what he didnt do...
I will be the one who is clapping the hardest for Purifoy, Rebounder2u, Go Blazers.

Couldn't agree more. I would like to have seen a better career for Preston. Hope he does well in the future.

He better be in the starting lineup Thursday night alongside fellow seniors Rob, Jordan, Rod, and Foz.

I always had high expectations for Purifoy. After his freshman season, I thought we would develop into a 15 point, 30 minute a night player. Somewhere along the way(I think this was under Davis) he lost his confidence. Little by little he seemed to regress as a player, and worry more about what could go wrong than just doing what he knew how to do. I too wish him the best in the future, and I appreciate the way he has handled himself on and off the court for 4 years.

If we continue with Haase's idea from last year of starting Srs on Sr night we will start the game w/o a ball handler...I know, I know. Let the easy joke go by, please...

I think Rucker's been bringing the ball up the court a little bit during each game and Swing played PG once.
(technically isn't Karl Moton a senior also)

It's still a head scratcher to ponder the reason why purifoys career went the way it did, much the same way its beyond perplexing why our season has gone like it has. When he's been out there this season hes been like a ghost. He absolutely will not shoot the ball. It's like he was resigned to the fact that he wasn't going to do anything his senior year, so why try?
I do agree the situation was handled well by all parties.
I Will remember him for being a very integral part of an NCAA tourney team.

Whatever went on, Preston Purifoy has dealt with it with grace and class. He has my respect, as a player, a Blazer and as a person.

I hope so. He deserves them.

Purifoy's character and integrity most impressive. More important, in my view, than any thing else I saw this basketball season with the Blazers.

Agree with the 1st part of your statement, but not sure about the 2nd. To date, I think we have witnessed, and are continuing to witness, a big change in the program itself. Perhaps Mr. Purifoy's character and integrity have developed accordingly and/or have been a big part of this transformation. It's rarely easy to uncouple one from the other.
Not openly disagreeing with you... Just looking at it more from an amalgamate POV.

By reading some of the comments, it appears Purifoy is a silent fan favorite. He will be best known for the shot against So. Miss.
The shot was a clutch shot and gave us hope that Purifoy had arrived as the next great scorer.

Because he deserves a shout out, Good Job Purifoy, without your contribution we may not have been in a position to win last night. Going forward Wednesday I believe Purifoy have a contribution and a role to play.

Purifoy had a good view from the bench at end of game. I wonder if he might have covered a wide open MTSU 3-point shooter at the end.

If you were a Senior and had a pretty good last 3 years, would you expect to start, especially if you felt like you had earned it ?
