RE: New Jersey teenager suing parents for financial support, college tuition...
I'd laugh if this wasn't so pitiful. She needs to put on her big girl dress and take care of herself. [/quote]
Quote:She’s demanding that we pay her bills but she doesn’t want to live at home and she’s saying, ‘I don’t want to live under your rules,’ ” Sean Canning said.
Quote:The father said that he and his wife did stop paying the Morris Catholic tuition and have kept Rachel’s car because they paid for it. The father contended that Rachel moved out because she didn’t want to abide by simple household rules — be respectful, keep a curfew, return “borrowed” items to her two sisters, manage a few chores, and reconsider or end her relationship with a boyfriend the parents believe is a bad influence."

The jury might reach a verdict in less than a minute.

Them not paying her high school bill is the only part that i don't agree with parents.(just because they signed a contract with the school)

This is what the world of the left and Obama's welfare state have brought us to. Nobody has to work for anything. Just, give me, give me, give me.....

The lawyer that took this case should be disbarred.

RE: New Jersey teenager suing parents for financial support, college tuition...
Lmao. What a spoiled brat. I worked for all of my $#it in HS and still respected my parents (they paid for my car but I put the gas in it, paid for my school lunches, anything fun I wanted to do, etc). My first weekend back home from college I pretty much had free reign because they figured they had no control over me at school anyway.
You have to either be a real brat or have the worlds strictest parents (and even then the kids are brainwashed enough to still love their parents no matter what) to pull a stunt like this. I would never throw away my relationship with my mom and dad over a few rules and a crappy girlfriend. I did have one HS gf that my parents didn't like, but they were also smart enough to know that it wouldn't last.
My generation kills me sometimes...

They're probably on the hook for the rest of the tuition, but they could sell her car and/or use THEIR money that they put into a college fund to cover it.

I don't see why they'd have to pay anything. She wants to be on her own, let her go... Let her do it herself... In the meantime, get her some meds for bipolarism.

She is 18 years old. If she wants her school paid for. Then she should join the damn army or navy.

Because the contract with the school is with them, not the girl.

In some ways they are reaping what they are sowing. She is likely an indulged spoiled brat and she's really just acting accordingly. This is the monster that they created.

As the parent of two teenage girls, who are friends with other teenage girls, I approve this message.

Her parents are right to give her the boot (from other reports) but her parents signed a contract with the school so they are in the hook for tuition

My generation... I swear... so much self entitlement. The worst part is 99% of us were raised spoiled, I luckily grew up with my old school grand parents. I don't think my kids generation (if I ever have kids) will be any better, probably worse.
