Owls in Spring Training
I figured doing it for all Owls is the best way to go about it. So here's some news on Rendon:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/nati...er-updats/

Summary: Ryan Zimmerman is starting to get time at 1B during spring training. When he does, Rendon is going to third. Looks like they're starting to head to that transition.

Both Humber and Savery pitched a scoreless inning for Oakland yesterday. Holt started at SS for the Red Sox today. Haven't checked the box yet.

He was 0-3 with a run scored and two stolen bases.

Almost an Owl, Brett Marshall who's dating former Rice basketball player Jessica Goswitz, pitched two hitless, scoreless innings for the Reds on Sunday.

When did he get traded by the Yankees?

He was sent down when the Yanks got Carlos Beltran and claimed by the Cubs. They then released him and the Reds claimed him. If the Yankees draft you there's little chance you'll play for them as they'll pay for an established player. They don't have time to develop players.

Strasburg pitches 2 scoreless inning for Nationals

Washington Nationals second baseman Anthony Rendon (6) jumps over Atlanta Braves' Justin Upton (8) after getting the out at second and throwing to first base to complete the double play in the second inning of a spring exhibition baseball game, Tuesday, March 4, 2014, in Kissimmee, Fla. (sorry about the large size- anyone know how to get outside photos to resize down when they show here? I already asked on the Support board.)

One way is to specify the pixels

The board auto resizes as well.

Thank you, Antarius. I will start trying your suggestion.

RE: Owls in Spring Training
James Wagner (@JamesWagnerWP) of the Washington Post writes that Matt Williams is unconcerned with Danny Espinosa’s slow start…
Quote:Danny Espinosa entered spring training with an opportunity to win back his old job [from AR] of second base and the backing of the team’s manager and general manager. He has started the spring schedule 0 for 10 with an RBI and a strikeout. But Manager Matt Williams is unconcerned because in both batting practice and in game Espinosa’s swing has looked good to him.

I hope Rendon's swing has looked good in practice, too... since he's off to an equally slow start (0-7 with 5K's).

RE: Owls in Spring Training
Rendon hit his first home run of the spring today. Went 2 for 3 with an RBI and 2 runs scored.
And Paul Janish is getting a lot of playing time with the Rockies and making the most of it. He went 3 for 3 with 2 stolen bases today, bringing his average to .529.

Brock Holt went 2 for 3 yesterday against the Orioles, with a double and his first HR.
