RE: AP POLL -- 5 AAC Treams in Top 25 / Memphis # 20
I put us at #22, so pleasantly surprised. So...we split this week with a #18 and a #15 and we should still be in the top 25 the week before the conference tourney.

How cool is it that we are in the FINAL week of the REGULAR CONFERENCE season and we are playing back-to-back games against RANKED CONFERENCE opponents?

When is the last time THAT happened?

Kudos for SMU for stepping up their game. This has been a great first season for the AAC. Unfortunately, we lose UL, but for HALF of the conference to be ranked going into the last week of conference play is way beyond my wildest expectations.

We lose UofL, but we gain (hopefully) a more 'normal' Temple squad. This has been an embarrassment for a usually proud program in Philly.

Not that a good Temple replaces a great UofL, but it will help.

Yep, and with SMU ranked one ahead of them I suppose all is right now in their world. 03-lmfao

RE: AP POLL -- 5 AAC Treams in Top 25 / Memphis # 20
Kentucky still ranked at #25 is an ABSOLUTE joke.

And AAC teams are...
Louisville #11 (dropped from #7 after loss to Memphis)
*I'm still not sure how Louisville is #11 myself.

Cincy # 15 (dropped from #11 after loss to UConn)
*This seems fair.

SMU #18 (up FIVE spots after beating UCF this week?)
*They ranking Larry Brown NOT his team. UCF? But they did sweep UConn.

UConn #19 (from out of polls to #19 after beating USF and Cincy)
*I guess this makes sense. They swept Memphis, and split with Cincy.

Memphis #20 (up ONE spot after losing @ Houston, and beating Louisville)
*The Houston loss hurts more than the Louisville win helped.

We have FIVE teams ranked #11 to #20 and ALL within 2 games of each other, and they have ALL beat up on each other. The ONLY reason these teams are seeded higher than Memphis is number of RPI 51 - 150 wins. Memphis has 2. Everyone else has many more than that.

But with that said, we still control our seed because all wins from this point are top 50 RPI wins. I'm thinking if we win out we get a 5 seed. Lose out and get a 10. Win 2 or 3 more, and we 6/7/8 depending on how it all goes with everyone else.

Losing to UConn twice is really hurting us, more than beating Louisville twice is helping actually. And losing to Houston hurt too. Cincy and Louisville still don't have a loss outside RPI top 50. Tigers do now in Houston, who is actually up to RPI 147 now.

how about we win both games this week and get in the top ten or just outside the ten?? now that would be super.

Disappointing we did not protect our home court better. We got one of the games back by winning on the road at Louisville. It would go a long way for RPI and seeding if we could get the win at Cincy. That's gonna be a tough one to get.

Agreed. Losing at home to Cincy/UConn really hurt us. Then losing in OT @ UConn the second time is really hurt us even more.

Beating Louisville twice helped, as will a win over Cincy at their place. And a win over SMU at home. I feel much better about our chances as of now than I did this time last week.

Then the tourney is on our home court, and we could/will see 2 or 3 of these other 4 teams again. If we focus, we can take the tourney and get a higher seed.

Should be a fun ending to season. Even though I'll have a heart attack if I keep getting so worked up!

Considering what Temple lost off last years squad I wouldn't call this an embarrassment, just a down (rebuilding year). Temple will be a major player in this league most years.

-Creighton lost to unranked team - down 4 spots
-Cincinnati lost to unranked team - down 4 spots
-Michigan St. lost twice once to a ranked team and also to unranked team - down 4 spots.

Does it take an act of Congress for Kentucky to fall out of the top-25?

If they beat Florida and Alabama this week they could be in the top 10 next week.
