Hosted another team for tipoff club - got to see him up close.

Bad news he is listed at 6' 6" to 6' 9", IMHO is much closer to 6' 6" and very skinny.

Good news is that the mistaken impression by Lee or just recruiting puffery by UAB - that I chose UAB because "they will build the offense
around me. May eventually = actually turn out to be true. I am excited about him!!!

My friend was at the final and said the Lee was "Michael Jordan clutch" at the end of the game. Made the three he had to take the game to overtime, iced all three free throws to seal the win at the end of overtime.

As an alumni of Dallas County I've been following his career closely and there is no doubt that we got a great player. This kid has a natural sense of the game. He is an athlete with a no quit attitude. He is what we need. If he develops under Haase, he could end up being one of the best to put the UAB jersey on.

One of the best basketball games I've ever seen. He completely turned into a different player down the stretch. After Dallas County's starting point fouled out he carried the team most second half, so It will be interesting to see how his talent will mix in with the guys next year.

Lee reminds me of Cameron Moore, when Cam was a Junior.

He was clutch down the stretch with his shot, but I think what was really telling of this guy's skill was his ball control when being double-teamed by two shorter, faster players beyond the arc and drawing the foul... Frazier would have struggled to control the ball in that situation.

I think cam Moore is a great comparison, especially as far as body type is concerned. I think hell be more athletic and talented overall, but not quite as good a shooter, at least initially..

So Cameron Moore came in as a walk-on and William Lee is a top 75 player nationally. Yet William Lee has a chance to be as good as Cameron Moore.

Not a good comparison. Best way I could describe him would be to mix Tosin Mehinti's size and leaping ability(Lee is slightly smaller but an even more explosive leaper) with Demario Eddins smooth ball skills and offensive ability.

I hope he is incomparable to anyone we've had.

He's listed under 200 lbs and 2 inches shorter And you're saying he has the same size as mehinti...

Eddins was similar to cam in that they were both tall, very skinny, and had pretty good ball handling skills and shooting for taller players. Eddins was definitely a more prototypical bball player in that he could do everything, and cam had a little more low post magic in his game.

Eddins was 6'7"
Cam 6'10"

They played two different positions and different styles of play. Not similar

That is the reason I compared Lee, a High School Senior, to Cam Moore as a Division-1 Junior.

Cam was a diamond in the rough that grew into an all conference player. Cam scored over 1000 points and had 700 rebounds and was named to the NABC district 2nd team as a Junior, and a NABC District -11 1st team representative as a Senior. So I feel like I set the bar pretty high.

I watched the game up close and believed Lee was every bit 6'7 to 6'9,and having stood next to him several times, by the way I am 6'2 and mean as well.. anyway, the kid is tall and thin, but so is Durant.

Now seeing his skill set in front of a loud crowd with the situation tense as can be, he stepped up to the moment and that moment was huge in evaluating his potential.

He hit crucial freethrows he played defense, he rebounder2u, nm.. he blocked shots, he actually played the point, he hit shots facing the basket and with his back too the basket, he showed speed in transition and had a calm demeanor, he led his team to victory while performing at a high level.

To compare him to any former players is difficult, because he has a little bit of every great UAB player skill set and no one UAB player I can think of compares favorably with Lee as so far as as many skills.

Lee will only improve with coaching and a better supporting cast, I look forward to watching our team and Lee as they develop into a championship team.
