Ya, I have been impressed with the little he has played this year. He has given us valuable minutes in a couple of games. He just has to work on not being a black hole when he gets the ball in the post and conditioning obviously.

Bodes well for us in the Cincy game.

They will do the same old non basketball scowling intimidation nonsense- including their look at me I am such a tough guy coach- meet them with a little big man slap in the face...

And we win the game.

After your first basket Thursday Austin- give a little growl like their kids do- it will be like slapping a bully and their nuts will shrivel greatly.

Play clean but with no respect.

If he can develop a reliable 12-15 foot shot he could be deadly. Best hands I've seen on a Tiger in decades.
Yep, hes got the touch.

I can see a lot of promise for his future. Getting in a groove here at the right time.

Think Mitch McGary last year or Cody Zeller his freshman year. Both made that turn late in their Freshman years and were AA the next year. McGary would've been the best player in the Big Ten this year had he not got hurt.

I have to admit, he is on the NCAA All-Name team. His nickname should be the Wild Turkey.

Is it just me or is Austin starting to resemble a young Bill Walton? Give him a full year of beefing up & getting a better shot and...uh oh for the DoubleAC.

He reminds me of the Lee kid from Florida a decade ago.

Nowhere near Walton. They changed the rules in basketball because of Jabbar and Walton.

David Lee was a much better athlete than Nichols, I believe he won the McDonald's AA dunk competition in high school. I still think Pau Gasol is a very favorable comparison to how Austin plays.

I've seen Austin fight for position inside, even successfully at times. Pau? naw... Skill set is close, but Pau has a better jumper. I hope Austin is tougher.

Is he 6'9 yet? He has a serious wing span.

Austin fights his tail off inside and is open a lot more than he gets the ball. Even over the last several games where he has been great we have missed opportunities to get it to him. It confuses me sometimes why we do not throw it in their even with a small window since he has proven he will catch just about anything you throw his way. I imagine it will only get better this year and certainly next.

I read somewhere that Austin's Dad grew late, like a couple of inches in college, if Austin could fill out at 6-9/6-10 that would be great.

He does have a good wing span and a good reach with an uncanny skill to block shots with his off hand.
