Geron Johnson
Over the course of this season Geron has become my favorite tiger. I love his intensity. Although he's had a few disappointing games, his desire is always obvious. You can't teach that. You either have it or you don't. He truly has "The Eye of the Tiger". So Geron, if you read this I simply want to say "THANK YOU". It's been a pleasure to watch you. GO TIGERS !!!

RE: Geron Johnson
He just needs to keep that monster in the box...

It has gotten out a few times this year.

But his intensity is his greatest strength.

RE: Geron Johnson
agree with the above.

He's hard-nosed, tough, and does things you can't teach.

When he gets running "downhill" he's so strong he's hard to stop. One of the announcers used the term "he 'bulled' his way to the rim" and I thought that was an excellent description of what he does. Theres almost nobody in college hoops that he can't just run right over/through on his way to the rim if he has room to get momentum.

Yes siree.

And it is awesome to watch him as he storms down the court.

Hope we get another one like him real soon.

Classic Geron was the defense he deployed on Smith when he took the ball and scored to tie the game, Louisville never recovered. Hard-nose is a soft term in describing his tanacity.

The guy is a helluva player and great kid.

Here's my chance to give Pastner serious props. He's done wonders for Geron as a person. He's helped straighten Geron's life out by caring about him personally and setting a good example for him to follow. You just don't see that everyday in high level sports anymore. Geron is a successful, great kid and Josh really has something to do with all of us seeing that. It's really a great success story.

I LOVE this kid.

He is Memphis personified.

Tough, hard nosed, gritty. We as Memphians are often bashed and looked at negatively. Always talked down upon. And yet we keep coming back to kick ass, and this kid is all that.

RE: Geron Johnson
been saying it since last season ... he is my favorite on the team. I hated how he was playing earlier in the season, he just didn't seem like the same guy. I am so, so, so glad he got out of his funk. To me, he was settling too much in the first half of the season, but now ... I think he realizes it is GO time ...

#mancrush #bulldog #beast

and I swear, if Geron doesn't pick up that 5th foul against UCONN on an obvious "all ball", then I think we win that game. oh well ...

I love Geron's game. His intensity and drive are exactly what any team needs, and I think the Tigers will really miss him next season. We can all be thankful he gave the Tigers two incredible seasons, and I hope there is an NBA team out there which sees that he can contribute in a big way....

Linebacker mentality and that kick@ss attitude makes him one of my all time favorite Tigers. He has that Antonio Anderson toughness to him that this team needs to be successful. Kinda makes me wonder how good he'd be if he were one of Justin Fuentes Tigers.

Nearly the same play against Russ Smith Saturday night, although the strip was higher up.

Geron Johnson = Muscle Hustle! Only player whose muscle and defensive tenacity that reminds me of those Cal teams. Antonio Anderson specifically, but a lesser offensive game.

Geron is just about unstoppable when he remembers to keep driving the ball instead of settling for jump shots.

I totally agree... Geron got the size and muscle to bang and take the ball all the way to the basket... Best case scenario, he get fouled and goes to the line.. Wish he would try that more.

But, Geron is already a winner if he makes it or not in the NBA... Like Pastner said, he loves Geron for the fact he is still grateful for the chance he was given at Memphis.. A lot of people thought he was gonna be a cancer for the team but he has been a role model in the community.

Another proof that people need positive reinforcement on their lives... Dude feels respected here, appreciate the royal treatment by fans... Others just take it for granted.

Guy just wanted a chance. I respect that. His fire on the court is evident that he is thankful for the chance he's been given. I appreciate that even more.04-rock

I mentioned the first time I saw Geron on the court his body is a carbon copy of D.Rose. His shoulders are massive. Very few D1 players get down the court as does Geron. He's been a great addition to the Tiger program and goes to show what a troubled young man can do with positive determination and with a good mentor such as CJP. Geron=Always a Tiger.
