So why the Sunday games?
I was hoping it was for TV, but I checked FS1 and CBS College Sports, and don't see any CUSA match ups... So why so many teams playing today? UTEP plays UNT, and it will be on Time Warner... I guess that Texas channel or something.

Charlotte is playing today and I suppose it is possible that the schedule was made with TV in mind before anyone knew that we would generate less interest than Piers Morgan. We will be on local TV, but definitely will not be picked up by one of the networks.

Teams usually play two home or away games in close proximity each week. This week games were split home and away so there's an extra travel day.

I would hope that was the actual logical explaination but given the fact that when UAB's schedule was initially released by the Conference office, on all social media and aps today's game was initially listed as scheduled for 3/2/2013 (which was a Saturday).

I have no proof, but I suspect someone at the C-USA office simply screwed up and after the schedule was release a mass change of games from Sunday back to Saturday would have just shined a huge spotlight on it.

I hope the CUSA office wasn't that stupid !

For Tulsa, a Saturday afternoon at 3:00 P.M. game, with Tulsa on a 6 game winning streak & it being senior day, would've been one of our largest crowds of the year. Instead, a Sunday afternoon game will attract a smaller crowd & with winter storm Titan hammering us with 15 degree weather & sleet & snow, we will be lucky to get 1/3 of those people to show up. Only die-hards like me will show up on a day like today.

So no games on TV, nationally ?

Hope to hell that Fox gets their live-game streaming up and running soon.

Marshall absolutely took a bigger beating than a 20-loss season at the box office in basketball (and in football as well) with the Saturday/Sunday afternoon games. The Herd played no Saturday night home games in a town where, without question and over the 40 years I've been here, draws best at 7 p.m. in football and basketball. Football had three Noon starts due to TV - and I at least understand that - but in basketball there should be no afternoon games on Saturday/Sunday unless dictated by TV. Teams coming in from a Thursday night game would not be affected by Saturday night for basketball.

In my experience, the only two things that affect tip times are TV and whether or not your opponent has grueling travel and needs to get on the road early for some reason. Otherwise, the athletic department decides when to schedule games.
