Will MAC Madness (The Q) Attendance Suffer This Year?
For the men's tourney...considering for nearly the past decade you could count on two if not three of the following teams in the MAC's final four (Akron, Kent St or Ohio), how will attendance be if only one or perhaps none make it that far?
Imagine a MAC final four of Toledo, Western, Buffalo and say an upstart NIU, would the 10K average be half of what it has been in the past?
Either way, it will be fun and entertaining. Really looking forward to it & hope to see many on of you this board there as well.
==================
My favorite quote of all time is from the late and wonderful Charlie Coles when I asked him a few years ago in a post-game press conference why these MAC Madness Tournament games always go down to the wire regardless of who is playing or what their seed is - he replied "there is only one strip of bacon out there and we all want to eat it..."
==================
With that, the next few weeks should once again be a wild ride.

If Toledo makes it, they will have a nice following.

Buffalo travels pretty well too. Especially for Friday/Saturday games. Remember, Cleveland is our closest trip of the season.

I think the format change hurts attendance more than which teams are playing. Winning teams will bring fans. Having the winning-est teams play as few games as possible limits that.

If NIU makes it just to the Q, then you will see probably 3 fans including myself. There is practically no following on NIU basketball unfortunately. Exact opposite of football.
