1996-97 was Larry's last season as head coach of the Tigers. That year, the Tigers won @ #6 Louisville by 6 and then routed the #11 Cards at the Pyramid by 20.

Interestingly enough, this sweep of Louise also involved two wins over ranked Cards' teams. They were #12 when Memphis won @ Louise on January 9 and #7 today.

If my 48 y o memory is correct, we swept them one season in the 80s WHEN THEY WERE ALSO DEFENDING NATIONAL CHAMPS.
