This is what might be called, in baseball terms, the 'pennant race'.
EMU, is now a long shot for a first round bye, and (EMU) students are on spring break and BSU is out of it, but the other four hosts are deep in the race for a bye or byes to CLE.
Nice day for the MAC.
P.S. I'm surprised by the BSU crowd, given their poor record.

I wouldn't be too sure on that BSU crowd, the NIU game was supposed to have 2,786 but looked more like 1,000.

I'm not to surprised about Ball State. They've proven in the past that their program can be a player in attendance in this league. They've just had a horrible product to deal with, but I believe they will be on the rise in the next few years.

Great numbers from Toledo. It's been a long time since a meaningful MAC game was played in the West during late Feb or early March. Last one I can remember would be WMU vs CMU when Kaman was a senior in '03.
Again...great turnout by the Rockets.

Thanks. I was there and it looked pretty full but Chipdip says it's always 3,000 less than we say so a lot of empty seats must have been painted to look like people. Of course that also means we've had negative attendance for a few games in the Cross years.
It is nice to have three solid teams in the West and two duking it out in March for the top seed.

Its been good for the whole conference! The MAC has five sub 100 teams (and Akron is knocking on the door).
More impressively we have no sub 300 teams and only two south of 250. NIU is banging on the door to get over 200.
The conference as a whole is a lot healthier this year than any time in the recent past.

Toledo should have an even bigger crowd for their final regular season game this Saturday against EMU. Possibly a sellout, wish ESPN was covering this game. It's going to be a great game.

I wish we had more to play for, other than a spoiler for Toledo's regular season title hopes. We are locked into a home game in the first round win-or-lose, so Toledo could wipe the floor with us. Wouldn't shock me.

Toledo needs a WMU loss to be the one seed. If we win or lose, #2 seed is likely. We probably aren't playing for a ton either.

Hope Miami cracks 2,000 for our OU game on Time Warner. It's $8 ticket day and they get you into the women's game right after, so hopefully there will be a decent crowd (for our present standards at least). Miami looked rattled by the O-Zone at the Convo earlier this year, too bad we can't generate that kind of atmosphere these days.

yeah that was a great game last month, coming back from a 17-point second half deficit like we did! Good times! and you're right...the O-Zone definitely played part in that comeback. Miami wasn't ready for the explosion that came from them once we got back into the game.

To me, the MAC's television coverage for men's hoops is very unimpressive. Were there any games on ESPN2 this season? I know the Sun Belt was on the deuce a couple times and they are quite a bit farther down the chain in RPI than the MAC. I believe the Horizon has a few ESPN2 games as well. Seems like coverage was a couple ESPNU games, usually early Saturday and then the TWC deal. Other comparable leagues to the MAC are getting at least the league tournament semis broadcast on ESPNU or another network (CBS / NBC). As far as I can tell, the early rounds will be on TWC but at least in Chicago zero of these games seem to have been picked up as of now by Comcast. I find it a little shocking that a league that has been hovering around top 12 in RPI all season is getting less air time than some of these other leagues. I guess ESPN3 might pick some up with the new MAC network but would be nice to get a couple tournament games on real TV.
