What's Up With Joe?
Seriously....He hasn't played well at all down the stretch in the games he is expected to set the tone and lead.

Injury? Fatigue? WTF is it?

I don't want to be a debbie downer but I really think he is struggling because of Dixon's play and being the man right now..This is just an observation and my opinion!!

RE: What's Up With Joe?
I don't think there is a question that Joe is struggling. Joe has always had the talent, but he still seems to be a very emotional young man that can quickly lose confidence. I expect that all he needs is one good game and the crowd, his family and friends to get behind him and he will again be the Joe that has been the glue for the team. However, its hard to know if there may be an injury affecting his play until after the season (you generally don't tell your opponents your weakness for fear of allowing them to expose it even more).

Joe has struggled for a week. He was an absolute stud vs UConn and Gonzaga. He was even solid vs Rutgers and Temple. Hell, vs Temple he had 12pts, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds.

That hip injury before the UCONN game. From what I have heard it's very painful and the only way to heal is to rest it. He has not been resting. I think that may be the problem, but I am not sure.

It makes a lot more sense than being threatened by Dixon.

Transitt while I'll agree his stats were ok against Rutgers and Temple he was still dropping his head and sulking during both those games..He was hardly even celebrating on the vid that was posted after the game today..I personally think Pastner has noticed it and that's why he has sat some lately..One thing about Pastner is he isn't gonna say anything bad about JJ no matter what the real reason is..I could be wrong but that Vid and the way Dixon has been getting all the press tells me it's bothering him..

I don't think Dixon's play has bothered Joe. It didn't bother Joe when Geron or Crawford has blown up in the past. I think he's playing hurt and down on himself a bit.

You could be right but Dixon isn't a starter and this is Dixon's 1st year and he has carried us the last few games.. But again I'm not saying your wrong it's just my observation in the last few games..

RE: What's Up With Joe?
Dixon has nothing to do with Joe. Joe has to do with Joe and Joe needs to get it back for the last few games of his college career!

Come on Joe, these can be the best 4 weeks of your life coming up, but you are the only one who can make it that way.

I'd wager Joes hurt over Joe being jealous or bothered by another players success.

RE: What's Up With Joe?
I think he bases everything off of his play. When he's got it going, he's supportive and a good teammate but when he struggles its hard for him to see the joy of team success.

There have been a couple of times I have seen him coming off the court during timeouts that he has looked like he is hurting.

RE: What's Up With Joe?
The whole 'team success' theory would make a bit more sense were Joe not the leading assist guy on the team (even during the past few weeks.)

Everybody knows he has had a great year; the concern is about his play and body language of late. Even his free throw shooting has gone sour.

RE: What's Up With Joe?
Yes.

Nagging injury and he has not ever really been a demonstrative guy.

For four years now whenever another player does well- many of you have used that as a hammer against Joe. Really incredible really.

Antonio Barton should start.
Chris is really the man over Joe.
Charles Carmouche is the real leader.
Geron is really the man over Joe.
Michael Dixon playing well has Joe down.
Chris Jones will torch Joe.

And all the time- for 4 years- Joe has simply been steady, improved his game every year, and like every good player in the country- has had a few off games. And the what is wrong garbage starts again. In a down game- he added 5 rebounds from the guard position- and was one of the main defenders on Chris Jones- who, last I checked, was a complete non factor today.

The statement was that he becomes disinterested in team success. The fact that he continues to make assists (more than Dixon, BTW) shows that to be untrue..

I think some folks on here WANT there to be drama and infighting on the team

Pastner and Co just beat the top ten ranked defending national champions with a HOF coach. What posts do we get? "Well, uhhhh, I think Joe hates Dixon and is a pouty little ***** over Dixon's greatness".

Seriously, are some of y'all SO DAMNED MISERABLE or hate this coach and team so much that you cannot even enjoy a win over Louisville?
