How good is Nichols?
He is so good around the basket...keeps the ball up high when he catches and shoots...great hands....similar to Keith Lee in that aspect...I hope he hangs around 3 more years.

Love Austin....he improved so much already. Can't wait to see what he'll do next year.

He will be a lottery pick after his Jr year. All he is missing is a little more strength

Goodwin, Nicholls, and King are going to make one formidable front line.

RE: How good is Nichols?
Austin has a knack for the basket, much like Omar and CDR. He may indeed have the best hands since Keith Lee here. He's got great timing on both sides of the ball and will be a 75% free throw shooter from here on out. He has actually grown an inch or so since he got to campus and is a true 6-9 1/2 ish.

He's got to work on his motor and be a bit quicker. That's just gonna come with experience. He's gonna have to get minutes, much like today.

He's gonna be special in a way that we haven't seen in a bunch of years.

Now that we're going to have a real weight program, I look for AN to get stronger in the off-season. He's plowed through the "freshman wall" and looking very confident and fundamentally sound. The more time this guy gets, look out.

Austin has excellent "body control", as in, he can lean in from behind the backboard and lay the ball in. The great nba forwards have good body control.

RE: How good is Nichols?
While moving down the lane towards the basket, he caught a perfect pass high and immediately laid in against the backboard for an easy basket. If he had brought the ball down even a foot before taking it back up, it would have been a contested basket. It is going to be fun watching him continue to develop over the next two or three years.

gotta developed a midrange game ... kind of a McHale clone with that quick to the hoop catch and shoot. sky's the limit.

Yep.

We haven't seen a whole lot of Nick King and I can't wait until he's more of a full-time player. I really like his game, the rebounding and the fact that he'll shoot the 15-18 footer.

Of course, Shaq and Austin seem to have increased shooting it recently too. When Shaq banked that one in against Houston, I was hoping he did it on purpose.

1st Shaq called bank on that shot

2nd One thing people forget is King has a 3pt shot, shot 46-47% in HS.

King was probably the best 3 point shooter at camp before the season started.

Great player, sound inside, keeps the ball high. Needs to develop a mid range game. Has great hands but lacks the shooting range Keith Lee had. Keith could nail shots 17-18ft in and its what made him so dangerous in the high post. Austin is more fluid running the court and physically probably in better health than Keith was. Keith had the skinniest legs, he looked like a stork, but man could he play basketball.

Austin does have a mid range game. He was taking them earlier in the season especially during around the Austin Peay/Orlando tournament games but he's being asked to be down low more which moves him away from 10 footers
