There is the possibility of having regular season co-champs. And tie-breakers are not used to determine a regular season champion.

They will use tiebreakers to determine seed though. And that's what the NIT uses.

I'm pretty sure they don't do that.

There is if that team gets an NCAA bid.

Or any #1 seeded team wins both.

This is an older document from 7-8 years ago but the current official one is virtually the same.

Not really. It's different enough not to be virtually the same. The old tiebreakers don't spell out how to break a two-way tie within the head-to-head records of 3 or more tied teams so they're actually incomplete. The official tiebreakers are listed on page 6 of this pdf.

RE: What are the chances we get 3 in?
It does read different in places, but the end results are the same.

We have four teams tied with the same win-loss record. Comparing the four as of today Tech and Tulsa are 2-1 whereas MT and USM are 1-2. When two teams within this group reverts back to the H2H thus Tech over Tulsa for #1 and MT over USM for #3.

BTW, thanks for finding it. I couldn't remember where I had read it last.

.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%

That's being optimistic. I would say

00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%

You are actually much more optimistic. Since you forgot the decimal point, that is the same as 1%.

I'll predict two at most - the winner of the conference tournament and a strong alternate. That would be Tulsa and USM.

I'm pretty sure they don't do that.
There is no doubt that only the #1 conference tournament seed is eligible for an NIT automatic bid if it doesn't make the NCAA Tournament.

Tech finished in a tie for 1st in the WAC last year with Denver and won the tiebreaker to get the #1 seed. That gave Tech the NIT automatic bid when it lost in the conference tournament.

About as good as me having a chance with getting with Brooklyn Decker.

Mt finished in a three way tie a few years back and did not get the NIT invite. IIRC it went to north Texas because of tie breakers
