But you have to make them as a coach. That's your job. Put your players in position to win games. It worked out today, thank goodness.

It works out for Pastner 3 of every 4 games. He just doesn't get credit for it.

Agreed. We do not have a coaching issue. JP is a great recruiter and a good tactician. And a good game manager.

When the shots go in, the coach looks good.

Why did Pitino blow a 6 point lead with one of the best guards in the country?

I agree, but he's got to start acting like it.

He's either pouting or wilting, and I don't like either.

I agree with NJ1.

Yep. Whatever he thinks he's doing it's making him look bad and Dixon look great.

In all fairness, I personally always share the blame equally. I get all the credit and everyone else the blame

Man you all sound like democrats and republicans. Can't we all just enjoy a sweep of our arch rival Cardinals? Go Tigers!

I still remember sitting in my car listening to Big Jack call the Tigers and loserville. I guess this was 1980 or so. We hadn't beat them for a long while, but Hammerin' Hank was laying down the law that night and when we hit the winning shot all you could hear was Jack screaming: "in your face, Denny Crum!" That's how today felt.

I never said he is blameless...but he certainly isn't as horrible as people make him out.

It was a great win and I'm not a pastner guy at all in terms of coaching.

You mean when we had 3 guards with foul trouble?

exactly. He should've played king at the 3 with shaq, austin, joe, and geron. It was a bad decision and wilson looked out of control

Yep, Pastner doesn't get credit for wins, only blame for losses.

just trying to bring a little balance to the thread of people trying to needle other posters. Pastner made some good moves and some bad ones. It worked out.

Best call of the game was staying with the lineup that was on the run at the end of the game.

RE: That Pastner and his stupid coaching
I hate to sound like RC, but we've got 'til the end of this (and next) season to really determine if CJP is the right guy. CJP has got to get us into the Sweet Sixteen either THIS year or next. If he doesn't, then it'll be six years with no Sweet Sixteen...and that doesn't cut it for the level of support our PROGRAM generates.

I am thrilled with this desperately needed win. It regains some of the momentum that was lost in the Houston game. However, at the end of THIS year, CJP will have been here 5 years. And I think we can all agree that THIS is THE year to get us to the Sweet Sixteen. I like our chances better THIS year than next when we lose 4 guards/3-4 starters.

This win puts some wind into our sails heading into the 'post-season' (of conference tourneys and the big tourney). Let's hope it puts us into the Sweet Sixteen THIS year.

Is this type of thread (either way) necessary after every win or loss ? Whether or not he's a good coach isn't really determined by one bad loss or one big win.
