I brought you in on it as an example. I too don't have to be a big fan of Dixon to hope the team wins.

Ok cool. 04-cheers...I probably should read more of a thread...bad habit on my part

ok, I respect what you are saying. the thing that bothers me about Dixon is the screaming and yelling into the crowd both home and away, and the F bombs he shouts from time to time. I like emotion and being pumped up. but to me there isn't a need to celebrate after every made bucket. simply act like you have done it before. please note that every bucket he made yesterday...I cheered for him because the ball went through the hoop. I want to win, winning is fun for me.

I agree this is their team. It doesn't belong to only one person. Each player has stepped up when others were having a rough day. That's what good teams do.

Some not surprising anecdotes above.

Enlightening- some let their cats out of their bags.

Enjoy our TEAM folks- all of them.

Dixon is our spark off the bench, the emotion he shows is ideal for what we need outta him.

I wish JJ would take over the team and take the ball to the hole every single possession.

I wouldn't mind that. But I am biased. I have noticed the last two games he has rarely had a free look for a shot or space to drive. He has been cut off at the pass almost every time. Maybe Thursday night things change.

Nah, there have been several plays where it's been obvious and the refs just don't call it. Joe is so quick that the defenders often grab so in a way he DOES force contact.

Exactly, we'v head multiple players play starring roles at any point this season. That is the advantage of having so many weapons.

JJ can pass, get his, hit the midrange, and still orchestrate the action in a secondary role.
CC can hit it when on and nail shots
GJ has elite strength and toughness and can get in the lane and boards well for a guard.
Dixon can be streaky and go cold, but when hot, he can singlehandedly get point to keep teams alive
Nichols roams the baseline and is always hands up and ready to get the easy layup when the guards create.
Shaq has been competent in the both the high and low post and been at times uncontainable.

EVERY one of these guys has been a key reason for a win this season. And that is not to minimize the contributions of others (Pellom, King especially).

This team has been fantastic at feeding the hot hand. It's going to be a different guy each night. And that is a GOOD thing.

Opposing coaches can't shut one guy down, they have to shut down a damn Tiger ARMY.

Free throw attempts this season:

Jackson 163
Shaq 132
Dixon 87

Joe highest number of attempts per minutes played too.

In case this was another Joe just does not get to the line as well as other kids do idea.

Last few games- yes.

Well dadgum Joe1, I respectfully disagree because I absolutely LOVE Dixon actively getting the crowd invoved. I can't speak to the curse words of which you speak of but in the Louisville game he waved his arms in the air at every opporrunity to get the lazy @$$ fans on their feet! I call it LEADERSHIP!!! The crowd carried this team to a W!!!! I wish JJ would do the same!

Joe has won us games in the past too.

Right now Dixon is hitting his groove. The Louisville game where he made a personal 6-0 run reminded me of CDR against UAB in 2007-2008 except Dixon got some help towards the end of it lol.

How about we all just agree we're lucky to have both of them.

You all know as well as I know that come AAC and NCAA Tourney Joe is gonna step up. He always does. Having both of them makes us that more dangerous.

RE: This is Mike Dixon's team.
Assuming we're talking about Joe and Dixon, we should all be grateful that we have BOTH guys. At times when each has struggled, the other guy--or someone else--has generally stepped up and performed. When they haven't, the Tigers have gotten beat. Josh said that would be the case from day one, and I think that's been spot on.

Depth is what makes a quality team what it is.

I was heated at the time I wrote it. Which was understandable. But once I calmed down, I went back and deleted that post. I've read MUCH worse on here. Either the mods agreed with me at the time or they just have the patience of Ted Valentine and didn't T me up!

They take a lot of heat, but the mods on this board are the best I've ever encountered for a more or less open board. They really do give a lot of latitude, sometimes too much, maybe, but overall their job is tough. They are definitely underpaid.
