Our guess is that he is sick. He has his jacket on and standing up in the dugout.

I can understand bunting. Aquino is not fast, and Coach was trying to avoid a DP, but not sure I understand why we continue to bunt with two strikes.

The catcher has a lot of ground to cover compared to most college parks, not that it mattered in this case.

Nice job by Chase getting out of that inning unscathed (strikeout-- but reaches 1B on PB, sac bunt, fly out, SB, strikeoutKK). For those at MMP or watching on TV, did we once again leave the runner on 2B uncovered? We noticed this at Stanford and wondered why the runner didn't just take 3B. Neither Byrd or Stainback were holding him close to the bag.

Hoelscher leadoff single. That's a start. Can anyone else other than Shane get a quality AB against this guy?
Ewing opposite field ground single. Runners on 1B and 2B, no outs. I think you have to sac bunt here, especially with the number of ground balls we've hit.
Aquino struck out (bunt foul with 2 strikes). Why does The OG have one of our best hitters still bunting with 2 strikes????????
Reeves struck out. Good grief-- this is NOT a strikeout pitcher-- even remotely so. You've got to put the ball in play there-- preferably on the left side. Really poor situational hitting.
Byrd struck out looking...as Peters doubles his season strikeout total in just the last 3 batters. Unbelievable.

Scoreless heading to the bottom of the fourth inning.

FB at the knees Ks Byrd. What a wasted inning. No hit and run, no SB try...just don't understand why we are so passive on offense.

Pretty painful to have your first two batters get on base and to come away with nothing.

I don't understand bunting after your first two were foul. Given the massive variance in runs scored per game by this squad over the last two years, you'd think we'd actually let one of our best hitters since Rendon f***ing hit away.

Yes, I agree with him bunting on the first strike and, perhaps, even the 2nd, but having him bunting with 2 strikes? Not a believer in that; especially not with a guy who is not a highly reliable bunter.

Some inconsistency from blue... I think that's what froze Byrd. That same location or even better had been a ball earlier in the AB.

Byrd with a nice play on what looked like a Texas-leaguer.

Another "excuse me" double, just as UH got in the 9th inning to score a couple insurance runs on us. You simply cannot let UT get the leadoff runner on, as every single batter in the lineup is skilled at laying down the sac bunt, and almost always execute on the very first pitch.
