Thanks axeme...4 weeknighters to close out the year... the Wagon Wheel game placement on the schedule is interesting.

RE: 2014 Football Schedule
Weeknight games are one thing, however Tuesday night games absolutely suck! A Thursday is cool, many students are done for the week and party anyway, Wednesday is tougher, but Tuesday is a horrible draw in November. Sucks! I never miss an Akron game either, but as an out of towner I probably won't be able to fit it into my work week, especially with Thanksgiving and Black Friday right behind it.

I was also hoping to get Umass on the road as well, that way I had an excuse to get up there for the game. I've had UVA circled on the calender since we announced it long ago. Charlottesville is awesome, anybody able to make it should consider traveling. Great town with lots to see there.

Good to hear about Charlottesville, planning on making that trip.

And agree, the Tuesday night Akron game in late November is a drag.

RE: 2014 Football Schedule
I'm guessing they figured Akron would be a draw regardless of when so they plugged that one in on the worst week.

As for Charlottesville, I have family there so it's an easy one, but there are also many other things to see like Monticello, Ash Lawn, and other historical sites as well as some cool wineries and other places to kick back.

Full FBS schedule too with no FCS teams on it. Will be a tough one though hopefully not as tough as this past year.

I don't like starting with Ohio, they seem to start strong and then fade so later on the schedule would be better. Still a tough schedule, and possible to go 1-4 before we get a breather with UMass.

To make things worse lately we have done the opposite and get better as the year goes on. Hopefully we still have Ohios number.

Well my first impression is that it doesn't have the murders row that last year did, but this is still far from a favorable schedule IMO.

I was hacked off that we had such a big conference game with BGSU in Week 2 last year- so naturally I'm perturbed that we have OU in Week 1 this year. I will also note that I've become a huge fan of the opener being a Thursday evening game. Seems like they've been doing that awhile so it almost feels like the Saturday is against tradition.

I love seeing SA come up north to play in our place Week 2. I'm a fan of these yearly games w/ the Sunbelt especially home and away- hope we keep doing them.

Toledo & NIU are tougher games from the west than I thought we'd draw.

Will be nice to finally get a chance to play UMASS.

UVA is must for any of you who have never attended a game there. I have currently experienced game day at 19 college stadiums around the country (mostly ACC, BIG & SEC) and UVA is in my top 3 I've been to. As mentioned by other posters defintely check out as much as Charlottesville as possible. Monticello is a MUST. Wish I could make it again, but will have to cut back on my travel schedule this fall as I'm getting married in December. It looks like my big game this season will be visiting Syracuse. Looking forward to experiencing the Carrier Dome 03-wink

Army is always a good game IMO love seeing that for our last NC game.

I'm not even sure what to think about the Akron game last game on a Tuesday... didn't we already experiment with having that game on/around Thanksgiving and pretty much see it fail (attendance wise)??? Really bone-headed choice there.....

Ohio will have a down year next year. Lots of starters to replace- QB, RB, top 2 WRs, etc., lost 3 coaches to Vanderbilt.. Bobcats start the season with 3 road games, @Kent, @Kentucky, @Marshall, its not going to be pretty. Plus Kent has Ohio's number. I'm not optimistic.

I knew you lost Tettleton but didn't know about everyone else....especially the coaches.... you guys are gonna have one young offense.

Kent has your number best when you think you are good rather than when you think you are bad. You also tend to do better early and finish weak and Kent usually seems to do the opposite so we will have to see.

RE: 2014 Football Schedule
In the last 5 years Ohio has averaged 8.4 wins/season but is just 1-4 vs Kent State. In those 5 games Ohio has scored just 3 TDs on offense, 2 of those coming in their lone win. Kent has outscored Ohio 130-53. Those are crazy numbers.

"The first five games are key; the Golden Flashes could legitimately start 0-5 (1-4 is perhaps most likely), but if they maintain their confidence after consecutive road trips to Ohio State, Virginia, and Northern Illinois, they could find plenty of wins on the back end. "
