RE: MAC Football Dates 2014
Wow. Buffalo has to be in the running for the "Easiest Schedule Ever" award...
Not a knock against the UB football team, just an observation. I would be shocked if you won less than 9 games.

I won't... Were losing Mack, Oliver, Neutz, Johnson, Carlson, Way, and a few others..

True, but that schedule has to count for something. And the only irreplaceable player on that list is Mack and maybe BO when he's not injured.

Miami:
Aug. 30: Marshall (Youth Day)
Sep. 6: Eastern Kentucky (Band Day)
Sep 13: at scUM
Sep 20: at UC
Sep 27: at Buffalo
Oct 4: UMass
Oct 11: at Akron
Oct 18: at NIU
Oct 25: Kent State (Family Weekend)
Nov 1: WMU (Homecoming)
Nov 15: at CMU
Nov 25: OU, 7:00 pm ET (ESPN2/3)
I have no idea how Miami will do to be honest. We'll see early on if Miami's failure last year was a result of Treadwell's coaching, player development, or both. I'd like to think we're going to win against EKU and some of the other MAC cellar-dwellers, but you never know seeing how crappy of a hand Martin was dealt. Improvement is all I'm asking for, but three or so wins would be nice to see. F*** Treadwell.
On the bright side, the schedule is set up so we'll probably have decent attendance throughout the year. The first few games will (hopefully) have good weather and the optimism of a new season. Late in the year we have HC/Family weekend and the OU game to boost the fall games.

RE: MAC Football Dates 2014
With the exceptions of the first week of the season when some teams might start on a Thursday or Friday, and the last week of the season when every MAC team either plays on the Tuesday before the Thanksgiving or the Friday after it, WMU has only played a weeknight game 1 time. I figured with Fleck being the self promoter that he is he would be all over getting his team on TV but that's not been the case so far.
Anyone have any insight into why the Broncos are deliberately shunning MACtion?

Central Michigan
Aug.
28 Tennessee-Chattanooga
Sep.
6 at Purdue
13 Syracuse
20 at Kansas
27 *at Toledo
Oct.
4 *Ohio
11 *at Northern Illinois
18 *Ball State
25 *at Buffalo
Nov.
1 *at Eastern Michigan
15 *Miami
22 *Western Michigan
This is the best schedule CMU has had in a while, IMO. Six home games, no three-game road swing for the first time in a while, and no weird extra-long bye week. Not to mention only one non-Saturday game and no day-after-Thanksgiving attendance killer.

I doubt WMU is shunning anything. Why on God's green Earth would ESPN want to put a 1 - 11 team on TV?

Why not? They put Skip Bayless on.
Good point. Still, Bronco fans are not bothered one bit by this. It's all good.

RE: MAC Football Dates 2014
Here is our schedule from umass75.blogspot.com
If you're coming from Bowling Green, by your tickets in advance, expect it to be a sell-out. Not only is it our first campus game in two years, it's Homecoming as well. The EMU attendance will be pumped up a bit as it's Band Day.
Really disappointed that Buffalo game is black Friday, with the students gone. Really can't expect many Buffalo fans travel down on Thanksgiving Weekend.
Quote:Excellent home games for both Gillette and McGuirk.
The Amherst season ticket holders will see:
09/27 Bowling Green 10-4 MAC Champions, went to Little Caesar's Bowl
11/12 Ball State 10-2 went to Go Daddy Bowl
11/28 Buffalo 8-5 went to Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
Gillette:
08/30 Boston College 7-6 - went to AdVoCare Bowl
09/06 Colorado 4-8 - went 0-5 away in 2013
10/18 Eastern Michigan 2-10 -went 0-7 away in 2013
Same additional details from our official site.
UMass 2014 Schedule
Quote:The first game at McGuirk Stadium will be against Bowling Green on Sept. 27 and will be the Minutemen’s Homecoming game.
On Nov. 12, UMass will host Ball State at 8:00 PM at McGuirk in its first nationally televised game at the facility since hosting Fordham in the FCS Playoffs in 2007. The Wednesday night game, the first ever in the program’s 132-year history, will be televised on either ESPN2 or ESPNU (to be determined in the weeks prior to the game).
The final home game at McGuirk will be the conference’s annual Friday game the day after Thanksgiving as Buffalo visits Amherst on Nov. 28 – the first meeting between the two teams in the stadium since 1998. That game will be part of the MAC’s flex package for the week with two league games being shown on either ESPNU or ESPN3.com.

RE: MAC Football Dates 2014
The September 27th game in Amherst is going to be crazy. First game back on campus in 2 years and homecoming!? That's just awesome. I already booked my hotel room. I expect the demand for tickets is going to be high.
