Tough to beat a team the 4th time in a single season. They still could get another shot at them in the State Championship.

Tourney MVP K.J. Lawson, a junior committed to Memphis, scored 18 of his 28 points in the first half as the Wildcats (27-6) rolled to a 40-31 halftime lead against the cold-shooting Spartans. Dedric, a 6-8 sophomore who added 21 points

I know John "The Snake" Calipari was in Memphis about a week or so ago to watch Dedric Lawson --- any ideas on his chances?

I like our chances, but I'm always uncomfortable when Cal is involved - it'll be interesting

True poppa slaw. But what many don't realize is the quality of player Hamilton added after the first two losses. Keion Peoples is one of the most underrated layers in Memphis.

OK, admittedly I'm naive, but how do high schools add players after the season starts?

No doubt you know better than most here. But, I still say it is much more a sign of the times than just big time HS basketball.

Of course, I was also too naive to realize the depth of sliminess inside college sports until Calipari was exposed.

Well I'm 42 and a few years before I played high school ball players were being funneled to Bolton from our school. Lol.

If a kid provides proof of an address (that seems legit) within the schools zoning, they have to take them.

SCS does not have the resources to follow up or have an "investigation" squad to research every child's address that enrolls in school.

Now there are plenty of folks that try to pass horrible obvious fakes that dont get through the registration process. And a lot of that can even be subjective.

It is what it is.

"The Lawson Boy's" Sounds like a scary old 50's nickname they would give bank robbers.
Baby Face Nelson and the Lawson Boys came through Cincinnati and cleaned out the gym!!!

I'm sure you are right.

But it wouldn't take much of an investigative squad to examine star level athletes transferring. Seems pretty obvious and also just wrong

But that's just an opinion

Especially when the school system doesn't want to investigate

Wasn't that what happened to Stokes? Thought he was going to Oak Hill, that fell through, enrolled at one school, said he moved and wanted to enroll at a different school, but wasn't allowed to play at the second school, so rather than sit out the rest of the year he graduated early and took whatever scholarship was available... or something like that.

I could never figure how he was able to just decide in mid year to graduate early from high school.

Transferring in Memphis and maintain eligibility is a joke.

I know a kid who changed schools for basketball reasons every year from 6th grade until he graduated, never lost eligibility.

In the history of Memphis the Stokes are the only ones to screw it up
