Yeah. My mistake in the other thread I started. Looked at the wrong date.

My apologies.

But no game thread. Really? It looks like people were posting, so I think some folks were here.

Oh, well.

RE: Women fall to NIU in OT
UT shot 35.1% from the field, 30.8% on three point tries and 62.5% from the free throw line. 1 for 11 from the field in the overtime.

NIU was 48.2% from the field, 62.5% on threes and 60% from the line.

Rockets outrebounded the Huskies 41-35.

Assuming I didn't misread some things on the box score too. Here's a link.

RE: Women fall to NIU in OT
Things looked pretty good with a 7 point lead with about 6 minutes to go, but then they hit another shooting slump from the field and the free throw line and that, coupled with a few defensive lapses, sealed their fate. Still I thought as a team they looked better than they did at home against WMU last game.

Really too bad they weren't able to put these last two games in the W column because they were winnable games. OTOH CMU won in Savage last year and a UT win this Sunday would have to be considered a major upset. Whereas NIU came into today's game riding a 6 games losing streak, CMU comes into Savage with only one conference loss this year and like the Purdue game, I am not sure the Rockets best game will be enough (CMU has been known to forget to show up once in awhile---but I think that they will come to play at Savage Sunday)

Coming off their 4 game win streak I thought the Ladies had a excellence chance for a winning record for the year even figuring that they will lose one game in the MAC tournament. IMO a winning record for this team would qualify as a successful year and it is still doable but now they don't have any margin for error with only CMU, Ball State, EMU and the tournament left to play.

I saw Crunch was 2-11 from the field. For a post player, that's pathetic

If you look at minutes played you can get a hint of why NIU dominated us in the overtime.

That's what happens when you either a) don't develop a couple of your freshmen to be able to be productive by the last week of the season or b) don't recruit freshmen who are able to play at this level. Not sure which one was our primary problem but we'll know more next season.
