It's been over 2 weeks since his indefinite suspension was announced and during that time, he has missed 5 matches. The MAC tourney is in 2 weeks. Here is an interview with Coach Andrassy where he discusses Sam's situation:

I have not heard that the matter has been concluded. So how long should his suspension be and how does it compare to other suspensions for KSU athletes?

It's more than guys got hit with for criminal acts. He's paid his dues, time to be reinstated.

Unfortunately when a crime has not been committed you are at the mercy of people, all of which have different agendas. There is no system, there is no correct answer and therefore any thing can happen. We will just have to wait and see.

Exactly. He would have served less time with a DUI..... or two.

A suspension was warranted, but an indefinite one is ridiculous unless there is more to the incident than what we know.

I hope it has been rescinded, I saw his name on the NCAA page among those listed for the qualifiers for the championships.

Litigation? Why on Earth would there be any need for litigation? Odd that a school that frequently has people literally on their soap boxes in the Student Center courtyard would shut down this young mans freedom of speech. I get he did something wrong since he represents the University, but he's served more than enough penance at this point and should've already been reinstated.

I don't think there is litigation as a cause of action is lacking, as well as a plaintiff. I'm wondering if Sam somehow compounded his situation before/after the tweets. In the Flo interview, Coach A said repeatedly that Sam has to make good decisions all of the time. Was his emphasis an indicator that Sam did something else? With Pride! Kent blessing his return, allegedly, I'm perplexed by the length and lack of certitude.

All I know is it sounds like he's hired an attorney. I may not be a friggin' genius but to me that sounds like pending litigation.

I have to believe the university is very worried about losing gay student applicants and/or being sued by the same. They will make sure they error on the side of too much punishment. I am concerned Wheelers career at Kent could be over.

If that is the case burden, it's another case of the minority ruling. Shame on us if that's what happens.

After what Chris Singletary did, after what Carlton Guyton did or didn't do, after what Jimmy Hall did, after what Josh Cribbs did... etc. All of those guys eventually played again.

If Wheeler isn't allowed back on our mats...

Let me be clear. I don't think the university will keep him from wrestling forever. However, if they keep him from wrestling in the MAC tournament (and therefore probably the NCAAs), he might very well decide to move on. Just speculation on my part. Nothing more.

Move on? He already transferred to us from Oklahoma, so I'm not sure he'd want to lose a year of eligibility to sit out another transfer.

Well I just heard the two players that started the riot during the WAC game last night received one and two game suspensions. I guess riots are better than bad language.

CORRECTION: the main culprit was suspended indefinately. Some lesser characters got 1 and 2.

Quit wrestling not transfer. I agree he won't waste his time transferring again.

If Wheeler lawyered up, they better get moving if he wants to wrestle this year.
