Never watched it. I didn't even know what it was when the controversy erupted. a&e is sort of a joke these days, anyway.

American Idol, the NFL, Duck Dynasty… all of it just modern-day bread and circuses. You'd have to pay me to watch any of it.

Howard Cosell said about 30 years ago that the NFL had become a "stagnant bore". It took me a long while to realize it, but he was right. That kind of violence -- gladiator-lite -- will always have an audience, but no one really gives a sh*t.

The more I think about it, the more I agree with the nfl. In fact, lets go all the way with this thing. Henceforth, whenever a professional football player says, or is reasonably suspected of having said, something that may have hurt someone's feelings -- especially if anyone could have found it demeaning in terms of race, national origin, sexual orientation, body size, or Vietnam war era veteran status -- I say we stop the game and hold court. the head linesman can be the judge. call witnesses. obtain testimony. name jurors. direct a jury verdict, and impose sentencing.

we gotta get this right, people! We cannot have racial epithets dirtying up this violent game where serious injuries are commonplace, and people are sometimes paralyzed for life.

...if I'm writing for SNL, I'm all over this like black-eyed peas.....or white on rice....or men on films

First will come the 15 yard penalty for racist language.

Next will come the extra 15 yard punishment on top of the original 15 yards, if it's determined to be racist "hate" language.
