Several different things come to mind here.

First is his name. Can assume family converted some time in the past. This is acceptable in some Islamic cultures.

Also wonder about the legal issues here. Nothing excuses this act but i have always had a problem with forcing a suspect to give a DNA sample. To me it sounds too much like forcing him to give testimony against himself. I fear forcing one person to give up constitutional protections because it usually leads to forcing everyone to give up the protections.
