To state the obvious, this will be a tough game. It took a history-setting free throw performance to beat these guys in the dome. Playing at their place, I don't think we can get into a shoot out with them and win (see Jacksonville game). Their biggest strength is probably rebounding, especially on the offensive end. As we all know, we've gotten pounded on the glass this year and second chance points can be the death nail.

Hunter matches up favorably against the frontline of UNF. I'd like to see a deliberate effort to go to him early and often.

If we prevent second chance points, we'll win this game.

This Buc team has been one of the more schizophrenic teams going. They follow a humiliating loss to FGCU with a big win over North Florida, and an awful second half against USCU with a solid win over FGCU.

They'll need to make that kind of turnaround against UNF. Here's a wild guess - if they get outrebounded by 10 and allow 57 points in the second half (as they did against Jacksonville) the Bucs will get trounced. But there's no reason that they should. Rebounding and defense are mostly a matter of intensity and effort. That's what makes the second half versus Jacksonville so thoroughly disappointing. I didn't see the Jacksonville game and can't bring myself to watch the replay, so I won't comment further.

The Bucs aren't the only team going into this game with egg on their face and something to prove.

UNF is coming off a home thumping by USCU 81-70. Both the Bucs and the Ospreys have to bounce back.

Whoever loses this game will likely face the other on the road in the first round of the ASun tournament.

Whereas Jacksonville had a team loaded with seniors (5th yr Martin, 5th yr Slawson, Dawson, McDougald), UNF is loaded with Freshmen (Moore, Davenport, Banks) and sophomores (Beech and Daniels).

If the first game is any indicator (99-93), this will be another shootout.

First team to get a defensive stop may win.

We have a much better chance of winning this game than we did against Jacksonville. Remember, whether we win or lose depends much more on our performance than the performance of the opponent. Jacksonville is the classic game that we lose- a bad team playing in a high school caliber gym. North Florida is better and plays in a real arena. We will play better today. Might get beat, but we have a much better history in games like this.

Avento's article states that if we win this game, we'll get a first-round home game. Is this accurate, even if we lose against Upstate?
