In fairness, we also never got to see what his 1st-4th years could have been like if he hadn't taken the obviously (in hindsight) risky move that he did that resulted in not being able to see what his 5th and 6th years could have been like.

I'm not really taking issue with your point... I'm merely saying that 'they don't pay you at the turn'. Well, in THIS case it appears we actually did... but it's not fair to judge him by the successes of the first 4 years that DIRECTLY RESULTED in the poor showing in the next two.

I think you mean "recklessly" -- i.e., "without reckoning".
We would all like men's basketball to wreckless, but arguably the wreck has already happened.

But you disregard the accepted but lesser-used meaning "without the influence of Georgia Tech"...

Time to clean house on both sides of the house. The Rice-UTEP girls game was on today on Fox Sports West. I am not so happy that I saw the game.

Perhaps Karlgaard is waiting on the announcement of his vision and the anticipated football facility improvements and fundraising status until after the basketball season concludes so he can fire Braun and announce the new direction all in one fell swoop?

To be fair...he could win a game or two in the CUSA tournament (are not all team in, just several rounds of byes for the top ones, or am I mistaken?). Unlikely he will, but stranger things have happened.

Atleast RG is gone - he likely would have handed out a 10 year extension for that 03-banghead

You're correct, GoodOwl!

From the C-USA Men's Basketball Championship format website:

C-USA Wrote:"Each team qualifies for the tournament, with the exception of FIU this season. The top four seeds will receive a double-bye, seeds five through nine receive a bye. The winner of the single-elimination tournament will gain the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship."

Going into the final day of conference play, we are the only team whose seed is determined. We are seeded 15th out of 15.

Three games are scheduled to be played on Tuesday, March 11 -- at 3:30, 6 & 8:30 p.m. (Mountain time) -- between, I'd presume, the 10-15, 11-14 & 12-13 seeds.

Seriously? Which hotel chain is sponsoring the conference tournament? We may as well open it up to any team that's ever been in CUSA or is on the shortlist to get in, if they have nothing better to do in early march.

WooHoo. Isn't it GREAT for us not to have to worry about seeding? Imagine the confusion and stress that would have caused us all this week. Way to go, Coach. Way to lock it down.

Can you imagine the ensuing meltdown if Braun somehow coached the team to a conference tournament win?

Just in case, I'm going to buy a lottery ticket and avoid going out in thunderstorms for the next week or so.
