Wilder definitely emerged last year and should be our best CB this year. But beyond Wilder we don't have a ton of returning experience after the loss of Drane. Orr would've been counted on this year to fill that void (and seemed to have a lot of promise). I don't think the situation is dire but we really need Payne to step up and hope everyone stays healthy.

I don't see QB as a concern. We have enough options that something will work out and Kiel is a pretty good plan A. Munchie returning from injury is an interesting backup plan.

OL is a concern in terms of depth, but the starters could be really good if they stay on the field.

I think CB and DT are the primary concerns.

2 guys with zero D-1 snaps competing for the starter's gig will worry me until I see otherwise. Maybe Kiel got snaps at ND? Not sure.

I'm pretty sure he red-shirted his first year there, so this will absolutely be his first game-style experience. Our QB situation is really scary, because we've only seen highlights of all of them, not the whole picture.

Yeah Gunner red-shirted. He did log some minutes in their Spring Game (Blue/Gold Game). I have linked a video clip below.

And for fairness, here is Jarred Evan's Highlights from JUCO

(Note: His sprint outs and runs start at around 4:40 mark of this video). He demonstrates a lot of athleticism.

RE: Head scratcher
They both locked in on their primary receiver.

They both threw the ball into coverage. Keils were against a decent Div 1 defense and got intercepted. Evans' had some big and good receivers that bailed him out.

Evans carries the ball loosely. I bet he had some fumbles.

Both looked like good athletes and can help. Their flaws can be fixed.
