Obama's 1st Amendment Police
Quote:The IRS Is About To Become The Arbiter Of Your 1st Amendment Rights By Obama Regime Decree
You read that right. The same IRS that was recently caught red-handed targeting conservative organizations, and the same IRS that is going to administer your personal healthcare under ObamaCare, is about to grant itself broad powers to muzzle your 1st Amendment rights through the tax code.
But Barack Obama isn't asking for legislation from Congress to grant the IRS these powers. Mr. I-Have-A-Pen-And-I-Have-A-Phone is going to do it by decree, and the only body that can stop him is the United States Congress.
The Obama-IRS muzzle will not apply to everyone. MSNBC, CNN, CBS, ABC, The New York Times and all the leftist media organizations will be free to continue pushing leftist advocacy under the guise of news.
Even The Nation, which at least has the integrity to speak truthfully about these tyrannical and lawless pending government regulations, will be unaffected.
And big labor unions and other leftist organizations in existence will be exempt from the IRS' rules. Large corporations, of course, are also exempt.
And to be totally frank, if going to work, eating dinner, watching a little television and driving the kiddies to soccer practice constitutes the sum of your daily activities, then you probably have nothing to worry about.
According to Freedom Works:
If you’re involved in the Tea Party, 9/12, or ANY other grassroots groups, the new IRS rules will make it ILLEGAL for you to:
- Mention a candidate up for re-election within 60 days of an election. That includes every single member of the House of Representatives – you won’t be able petition your own representatives.
- Register voters.
- Call for the election or defeat of a political candidate.
- Hold candidate forums so voters can decide who would best to represent them.
Do you belong to the VFW or the Knights of Columbus? Are you a member of the Lions or the Fraternal Order of Moose or the Kiwanis Club? Are you involved with another local community group? If so, you and your friends and associates could be under scrutiny.
National Review Online states: "[D]on't think this applies only to big TV campaigns. It applies to any form of advertising that might reach over 500 people. Inexpensive Internet ads purchased by a local Tea Party outfit, or a mailer announcing a meeting and sent to 2,500 area residents."
All of the above - and more - applies to you; whether you're a VFW member who is sounding-off on local legislation of importance to Veterans... or a member of a local community group fighting an idiotic zoning ordinance.
If so, be very careful of what you say, what you do and specifically, when you do it. If Obama's IRS gets it way, the government will be watching and if some pencil-pusher or politician doesn't like what you have to say then you best keep your opinions to yourself.
The Daily Caller again: "For decades, the IRS has determined what constitutes political intervention through a vague and open-ended, 'facts and circumstances' standard" and you can make a sure bet that under the guise of providing clarity, that "standard" will only become more "vague."
And make no mistake; these IRS "regulations" are a blatant attempt to shut you up and shut you out of the political process. Jay Sekulow with the American Center for Law and Justice alluded to that eventuality when he said: "It's now clear that new, speech-restricting regulations proposed by the IRS are not separate from the larger targeting scheme – where the IRS singled out conservative groups for unconstitutional scrutiny – but instead were long contemplated as a permanent answer to conservative nonprofit’s political activity." [Emphasis Ours]

Wow, Obama is going all out. Between shutting down conservative viewpoints, giving 2 million felons the right to vote, plus making sure that just about anyone can walk into a voting booth and vote for liberals, Obama is trying to save his party and make up for the votes he's going to lose because of Obamacare.

.
A proposed rule change could allow the IRS to limit the free speech of the very same groups it illegally targeted.
They're taking comments through Feb. 27. Add yours:

Almost 5 hours since posted and none of them have felt compelled to defend this action and tell us it's justified. I'm genuinely shocked.

Give them a break.
It must be incredibly tiring to run behind Hussein Obama picking up his crap 24/7.
