RE: Here is the men's MAC tourney schedule

ding ding ding....
After 4+ months of playing and practicing....I'm thinking rust isn't an issue.
Think about it....If a 1 or 2 seed plays their last regular season game on saturday....they would normally play again on wednesday in the regular season format. now they would play on friday. An extra two days makes no difference. Even a third means nothing.

RE: Here is the men's MAC tourney schedule
Quote:Truthfully, we dont need the 1 or 2 seeds playing the bottom feeders again or even the 7, 8 seeds. We know the 1 or 2s can beat them.
Also, I think as a Mid-Major, and going against the excitement of what March Madness is about, I think most would want our best "foot" forward team to represent in the tournament. Granted OU made it as a 5th MAC tourney seed or something like that if I remember right, so you can get hot at the moment, but I wouldn't believe a seed lower than that like a 10 who gets hot at the last moment and stuns everyone to make the tourney will do anything for representation of the conference.
I'm pretty sure the Bobcats won it as a 9-seed in 2010. They beat Ball St. (#8), Kent State (#1), Miami (#4), and Akron (#3).
Then they went on to take down the all-powerful Georgetown in the Big East, eventually losing to Tennessee in the round of 32.
Getting back on point to the topic of this thread, I also agree that the double-bye is best for the MAC. This allows our top 4 to stay injury-free and semi-rested as they go into the big dance.
