Yeah, that is about how much sense your post made.
The current pope is actually a relatively cool guy.
Doesn't remove those deep homosexual urges you have burning deep inside you.
The current Pontiff, Pope Francis believes homosexuality is a disordered desire; yet he calls for loving the sinner while hating the sin, which is consistent with the Catholic faith. The current Pope by no means promotes homosexual acts or behavior as normal; rather he encourages those with these disordered feelings and urges to learn to carry them as crosses and join in normal society as brothers and sisters. This is consistent with the previous Pontiffs views as well, Blessed Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, although their focus was more on the doctrinal and philosophical aspects of the disorders.
But make no mistake, despite the media's hopes to the contrary, Pope Francis is firmly in support of the belief that promoting or encouraging these disordered behaviors is against the Catholic faith. Again, showing love and compassion to the individuals struggling but not enabling or encouraging them to fall victim to their proclivities by acting out their sins.
Feelings are not sins. One can feel angry, hateful, lustful, but ones actions based on those feelings, what one chooses to do or how one chooses to direct their actions, can be sinful in their manifestations. The homosexual act is sinful. The homosexual person is not, but must not carry out the acts.
Amazing how those things are part of the Catholic faith and yet no one here abides by it.

Be careful in your use of absolutes. Many, many Catholics abide by it. More are returning to the roots of the Catholic faith every day, as they find the "cafeteria Catholic" style (where one purports to pick and choose and abide by only those portions they "agree" with (thus making themselves into quasi-gods- against the most fundamental and first commandment, for those that believe in such things being important) not only does not work or hold up in the face of life's important issues, but that it actually leads to the very disorders and problems that make their lives unhappy.
Far from being a rules-based organization, the Catholic faith, when it is respected, understood, and attempted to be closely adhered to, actually allows for freedom to be astoundingly happy. The freedom from falling for the lies of relativism and self-demagoguery.
For those who choose not to believe, if they are right, they "win" nothing when they die. They are dead. For those who choose not to believe and they are wrong, they lose by seeing that there is a God, and they will be forever separated from Him, knowing that He does exist. Those that believe and try to learn and follow what has been set out before them have the opportunity to live in eternal happiness. And for those who believe, and try to follow, if there is no God? Well, they still live pretty good lives, avoid hurt and disorder, and the problems that come with it. In essence, they still "win." It is the more logical choice, given the odds and the consequences.
