While Louisville is in Nbe/AAC this year, from a public perception standpoint, it is very difficult to use Louisville to hype Nbe/AAC.

Losing Louisville will hurt the AAC. . . Tulsa will be a 100% upgrade over the other basketball team that's leaving

We're working on it, we're working on it. Skeptics beware. Now that we're actually dumping resources in the basketball program we should see some success....eventually.

Add VCU and Wichita State and the American has a ridiculously strong core.

It already has a strong core but both of those schools would be good additions

True, losing Rutgers helps but getting Tulane instead is kind of a wash.

SMU remains on the cusp and likely will finish the season in the Top 25. Very impressed with the job Larry Brown has done and I'm sure he will continue to do well moving forward. SMU's success is a success for the AAC and will only make our conference stronger.

Yeah, I guess the Big East is lighting it up as a conference this year. You can't replace Louisville with their tradition, consistent success and national championships. It especially hurts Cincinnati because of the rivalry we've had over the years. Other teams in the AAC will have to step up. SMU already has and South Florida and Temple should be better next year as well.

The old model of football and non-football playing members didn't work out. There's no chance in hell they'll go back to that model again.

If the AAC could lure two strong RPI programs for non-fb it would help them both in RPI and in travel cost. The only issue is how do you convince those teams of stability?
