I understand that he pays the station to be on air but I can't fathom why any station would happyily accept his money with the kind of garbage he spews out daily that surely turns most people off except for a small segment of the local area. Plus he only accepts the same callers that are in line with his agenda. I almost went of the road today with this mess I mistakenly heard on the air

what did he say? I don't listen to any show anymore. I use to a long time ago back when the Tic and Johnny show was in town. I would call in to say how bad they were.

I change stations if I mistakenly tune in that doofus.

He has part of his show as "call the veterinarian". You can ask why your cat has mange, etc. I am really surprised that you don't relish the social impact that this man is making here.

You must have heard the ex-Tiger football player who said Pastner is too nice, wont bench them, and cant win big games down the stretch due to lack of focus.

No I didn't hear that but thats laughable since pastner IS criticized for benching players too much when they make a mistake and he coached the team that made a run in the end of Louisville game. I did hear the guy that complained that josh took something that was working - that being Geron driving - by benching him when I was screaming to myself that it was because Geron was in foul trouble

That's a really good question, I agree completely. Its just bad, bad, bad radio. It sends me to the other station within seconds. He is just a terrible radio personality and sounds like a moron. Thank God I haven't heard him long enough lately for him to discuss the Tigers. Last Tiger discussion I remember is when he said Rose wasn't NBA good.

I usually get the station changed while he's talking about all the people from out of town who ask him where to eat or the veterinarian, who, by the way, if you are reading, quit paying him now, or quit giving his dog free shots, it is not doing your business any good.

Same callers => more money for Rainman => Rainman continues to pay his 'benefactor'/radio station.

It terms of 'turns most people off'....there isn't that many people who listen to his show, so there is fewer people to 'lose'.

Let's put it this way: Jeff Whineburger - a truly untalented hack - survived for many, many years on the radio. If Whineburger got PAID (dear Lord that is truly hard to comprehend) and still stayed on Memphis radio for as long as he did, why wouldn't Rainman who PAYS the radio station for air time?

His bashing of Larry Finch was worse. Maybe it was time for Larry to go but the way Rainman attacked that man on a daily basis was disgusting and borderline prejudice that even Wolo rosed up and bashed John Rainey on the air

The Rainman's show sometimes sounds like a comedy sketch it can be so ridiculous at times.

I got so mad listening to him a few years ago, I made a list of his sponsors so I could organize call and the sponsors I did not appreciate his terrible and unfounded crictisims. I think Gateway Tires is one of his sponsors.

They were, and I quit using them because of it. Don't know if they still are or not.
