What they don't get is why EMU fans cannot believe you lost to NIU. They are two middle of the road MAC teams. We just played last year, in the MAC tourney at EMU and it was a one point game. Both teams are bad at offense, but good at defense.
Look at EMU's talent. Now look at NIU's talent. You should be ecstatic to be middle of the pack. What it shows is Montgomery is a decent coach and Murphy is not.
Good morning, Bob.
With all due respect, if you don't think that Eastern is vastly more talented than NIU, then...I can't help you. Quit insulting people's intelligence. This is a BS free zone.
Thank you sir.
I'm ready:
I remember when Hoopster wanted Montgomery, but we picked Murphy.
Both programs were going no where. Empty cupboards...
Where are we today:
1). Murphy has out recruited Montgomery (you acknowledged that in your post. Neither the stork nor Hoopster brought them to Ypsi). +1 for Murphy. He has recruited better.
2). Murphy was 5 - 1 vs. Montgomery (1-5), each essentially coaching their own players before Thursday's game. Now 5 - 2.
3). Murphy has beaten, er trashed, WMU and Toledo, in conference play, two marque wins. Who has NIU beaten in conference play with a winning record?
4). Murphy's team, recruited and coach, by aforementioned Rob Murphy is 79 in the RPIs, while NIU is 197.
Bob, you are entitled to your opinions and your emotions, but not your own facts. I'll stand by the facts I presented, any day, and twice on Sunday.
