Yeah. Shhhhh!! If you keep it up, hydraulic fracturing will be illegal in your area as soon as some Democrats can make a law banning it.!

Fracking wells are miles above these fault lines. Miles. The second largest quake in this region occurred in the 1920s.
Something else is causing these.

Explaining that to a liberal or environmentalist is like explaining how to change the spark plugs out in a diesel engine. I love to hear people blame these quakes on fracturing.

Most experts do not agree on their cause. I think the left uses any sort of disaster to further their agenda....which always leads to a tax, regulation and everything generally costing more.
If the left really was that concerned, they would all join together and give up their cars.

That's a broad statement. In some areas, earthquakes happen 10+ miles below the ground. The one in SC for example was only 3 miles underground. The one that happened in Virginia a few years back was only few miles underground too. those are not fracking areas, so they're obviously unrelated, I'm just pointing out that all earthquakes do not occur miles below where fracking occurs.
I think it is reasonable to assume that cracking bedrock could potentially cause mild shifting/settling of the earth, but I don't think it is really anything to be concerned about if it is. Fracking isn't going to lead to any major earthquake events.

in relation to the fault lines in Oklahoma, they are. Also, the main epicenter of our recent quakes are just northeast of the Edmond area. There are no fracking wells in that vicinity. So, most of the experts in this area are suggesting that it is a rise in natural seismic activity.

Every frac job uses a certain type of sand, from tiny grain, to normal grain, to electro grain. After the main slick water stage (longest stage in each job), we begin running sand into the formation. Sometimes up to 10 million pounds, and it holds that formation open, while pin holes allow the natural gas to flow through the formation and back up through the flowback pipe and into the trucks to be collected. I know you're not disputing the reasoning, just tossing a little info out there...

Scary. We have warnings for things like tornadoes and hurricanes (most of the time!) but earthquakes remain a mysterious phenomenon. Stay safe! (Yes, even you Okra. )

I heard about this happening in Ft. Worth. When they stopped fracking, the earthquakes stopped.

Three unusual earthquakes that shook a suburb west of Dallas over the weekend appear to be connected to the past disposal of wastewater from local hydraulic fracturing operations, a geophysicist who has studied earthquakes in the region says.

Bunch of nonsense. There is no evidence fracking has anything to do with this. The earth is constantly shifting. The entire New Madrid fault system has become active again. There are earthquakes occurring from Oklahoma to South Carolina.
The wastewater theory is also flawed considering waste water reservoirs have been around long before fracking wells.

Perhaps it's just a coincidence then. I don't know. I'm not a Geologist or Seismologist.
They certainly seem to think that it has something to do with it.
