Still more people than a Memphis football game.

Memphis actually led C-USA in attendance one year...ahead of ECU, Louisville, Cincy and USF. We'll be back.

We will absolutely be back.

Seriously, what's up with that roof? I'd have severe claustrophobia in there.

It's one of the worst Div 1 arenas I've been in. dark, cramped, and dirty. I bet when it opened it was nice, but times change and things get old.

The low roof can also make it VERY loud if they could fill it up...

If we somehow beat Louisville at Moody, I will agree with the OP.

Memphis vs UT Martin. That's right. UT Martin.

We will be back. Memphis has the highest potential for attendance in this conference along with ECU. Memphis wins 10+ games a year, easy 50,000+ every week. Only ECU can also do that. Nobody else could, not even if their stadiums could hold that. Difference between Houston and Memphis in football, when Memphis is winning, people care. When Houston is winning, people don't care. If Memphis had your run you had with Keenum, you wouldn't have found an empty seat in the liberty bowl. But Houston still struggled to fill their stadium.

I agree for sure but UC home court advantage not too shabby either. Zero loses at home this year.

RE: Moody Coliseum has to be the best home court advantage in the AAC
Comparing basketball or football attendance between schools is a tricky thing. All sorts of different factors can alter a team's numbers.

But this is how I look at it:

If you have a Top 10 basketball team (or even ranked at all) or a 10+ win football team (or even an above .500 record), you should be able to fill your stadium or arena pretty well. Winning makes fans want to come watch.

I think the more telling situation is when you don't have as good as a product on the court or field. If your basketball team is sub .500 or your football team only has a couple of wins, do your fans still turn-out? That shows me how invested your fans are in the program.

Can a school rely on its fan-base even when the team is having a down year or multiple in a row? That's the kind of school that I would like to have in the AAC.

Minges is pretty good. Our men's isn't doing well, but the women are riding a 26 game home winning streak dating back to last year. Currently they are 21-3 overall.

1. How can you be back when you were never there in the first place?

2. Ifs, coulda, woulda, shoulda. We don't know how Memphis would draw in football when winning because they have never been worth a crap in the first place. Perhaps they would sell out the Liberty Bowl if they were winning. When Memphis does something aside from sucking, we will see.

3. The TV ratings, the fact that we sold out every home game in 2010 and 2011, C would have sold out multiple games in Robertson this year if we hadn't torn it down, COllege Gameday stopping by our campus with a massive crowd, Cougar Tickets going for up to 200 bucks a pop says otherwise. If nobody cared, we wouldn't be nearing completion of a new 40k OCS. (Something you Memphis wouldn't know anything about seeing that you rent an off-campus stadium.)

4. Didn't Memphis lose to FCS UT-Martin? I also recall that Middle Tennessee also manhandles Memphis on a regular basis. I'm sure Tennessee Tech, Tennessee State, UT-Chattanooga, and Eastern Tennessee could all beat Memphis too.

Memphis fans are real idiots. Then again, seeing how their school has borderline open admissions and is the only AAC school not to be a high research university or even ranked in the USNWR national rankings, is pretty telling.

Early to mid 2000's. We were winning. Whooping Houston every time. Packing the liberty bowl. I just saw your rating, and almost decided to ignore you because evidently you annoy everybody, but I decided to respond.

You've got to be kidding me? Open admissions? Our admission requirements are higher than ole miss and Mississippi state. Those are just the two SEC schools I know off the top of my head. Also, 3 of Memphis' graduate schools are ranked very high nationally. Typical ignorance. People thinking Memphis is a poor academic institution. Please. Ever since the "State" was dropped, academics have gone up nearly every year. And have skyrocketed in the last decade. Dude, just go away. Nobody in Houston cares anything about the University of Houston.
