Good to know. My wife likes McConnaughy so probably will be an easy sell to get her to checkout. Sounds like a show we could get hooked on. Good old on demand channels. Don't know how I'd live without those or my DVR.

Just a fair warning that at least so far, the show and its characters don't seem to have an optimistic view of lasting love/marriage to put it mildly.

But through 5 episodes I'm loving it.

You also have to worry about your reaction to a nude Alexandra Daddario if you watching it with your wife. That might be the most memorable scene of the entire show thus far!

In a now deleted tweet, Nic Pizzolatto hinted at two female detectives for next season.

From what I've read, listened to, seen...they are wanting this to be an anthology series in order to promote more "big names" to work in it. An 8-10 episode commitment is much easier to swallow than a continuing series for many of the big money people in Hollywood. Rumblings are that the next will include two female leads (speculation has been Jessica Chastain, Kate Winslet, and Rachel Weisz) in a smaller urban setting in the Southeast (ie Memphis, New Orleans, etc.)

I won't read this thread...but I just made it thought the 4th episode. Holy crap. Good stuff.

BTW: HBO On Demand is changing my life

Without giving anything away (hopefully), what I suspected in episode 3 was confirmed in episode 7. Can hardly wait for the conclusion of the final act.

Just finished #7 so I think I am all caught up? Great show.
