Worked well to have one thread for the whole season last year so lets do it again.

UC dropped their season opener today against Elon by a 6-5 final in 10 innings.

They were trailing 5-2 with 2 outs in the top of the ninth, but fought back to tie it at 5 and send it to extra innings. Game 2 of this weather shortened series is tomorrow.

Might want to start a Happ watch with all the preseason accolades he has received. He was 2 for 2 today, and reached base in all 5 plate appearances. So he currently has a 1.000 OBP and BA, and is slugging 1.500

I just took a look at the box score from yesterday. The first thing that stands out is no walks by UC pitchers. They did give up 15 hits but no walks in the first game of the year is pretty good.

The bad thing was 10 LOB for UC.

3-1 loss today.

can baseball fans still park at the Library Parking Garage when attending a game or is the only on campus option at Jefferson?

Attendance wasn't helped by the fact the game was played at NC State, about 60 miles away from Elon.

Just pulled it from Elon's website with the boxscore. Jumped out as an oddity. More concerned with losing 3-1 only giving up 3 hits. Walks and errors will age a coach prematurely.

Only having 2 left handed pitchers (neither starters) will age a coach quickly too.

I didn't make it this year, I believe it was sold out like always.

I couldn't make it either.

They charged $35 per this year. That is why I was wondering how that might affect attendance.

Just looked up the article on the event. Says there were 200 in attendance. If that wasn't a sell out, then it was really close.

UC gets its first win of the Ty Neal era by taking down Wake Forest 5-0.

Matt Ring threw a complete game shut out. He gave up just 4 hits while striking out 3 and walking 2. The defense behind him committed no errors. The offense put up 11 hits, 3 for extra bases.

Just an all around great game by UC today. They are now 1-2 for the year. They face Radford tomorrow at noon and Missouri Sunday at noon.

Great job by the baseball team!

my daughter's bf has orally committed to ucbaseball.

UC lost 6-5 today to Radford. UC scored 4 in the bottom of the 9th but came up short.

UC beat Missouri today 11-5 to go to 2-3 on the year.

Both games against Virginia Tech this weekend will be on ESPN3. 4:00 Friday and 2:00 Sunday.
