I guess there's something to the line of thinking that expectations change as the season progresses. This seems especially true when your expectations start out very low like most folks did w/ hoops. I'm sure my expectations changed under these circumstances as well, but I also try to remain grounded by remembering what they were 3-1/2 months ago.
One thing that I've noticed is how the reverse isn't always true, or at least as true. Usually when expectations are high but not met, the general attitude seems to be more of a ticked off "this can't be happening, we shouldn't stand for this, there's no excuse for this...", but the expectations don't really change much during the course of a season.
Raptor, before the season I only expected us to win around 3 SEC games, & 13 overall. I definitely DID NOT expect us to win an SEC-T game. At this point I do & will be disappointed if we don't. Especially if it costs us a NCAA bid. In this instance I'd say your expectations are more than reasonable. However, it wont muddy up my thoughts on how successful our season has been in relation to my preseason expectations if we lose in the 1st round.
Make sense?
Unfortunately, if it works out that way the naysayers & Odom haters of the world will use it as their ammo while pronouncing the season a failure, our program dead, & Odom the wrong man for the job.
