I would have never guessed UAB would be tied with UTSA in mid February.

if USM can beat UTEP then the Middle Tenn. @ LaTech game could be the de facto regular season championship (should both teams win out)

Last year UAB finished 7-9 in C-USA. It's going to take some doing to get there this season. What a disappointing season it has been, especially in conference play.

And you should probably realize that any time a team in CUSA "Should" do something, it won't happen.

This is exactly why all the grumbling about why we should be in a "better" conference is ridiculous. If we can't dominate a league of this caliber, we have no room to complain. Best scenario is we improve to the "big dog" status like UAB used to have in the old Sun Belt days and re-establish ourselves as a quality program. Much the same path as Gonzaga & Butler have taken.

This sounds like the Stadium argument. BoT says we need to improve attendance to get a new stadium. We say we need a new stadium to improve attendance.

You say we need to be the best CUSA team to get a new conference. I say a better conference would make us a better team. Good players don't want to play in CUSA.

What are we doing right now to prove to a better conference that they should take us?

The stadium was a revenue-positive venture. Right now, UAB doesn't look that way to a better conference.

we're pretty good against good teams…as long as we can get into a conference with no sucky teams, we'll rock it

RE: Scores, Standings and Scenarios
"being in a better conference would make us a better team" didn't work so well when were finishing mid-pack of the best C-USA years. "playing better teams will help our attendance. nobody wants to see these teams in a mediocre conference." See above.

Haase took this job knowing exactly what he was getting into and recruiting good players and making them great, and recruiting great players and making them elite is what makes a great coach.

You say good players don't want to play in C-USA...you say that we've been beaten by bad players. Do you realize how stupid that sounds? I've seen some pretty good players in this league line up across from us that we would be thrilled to have.
