Sheesh! Did you all have snow days today?! You miss so much when you are working for the man.

Snow day!!! Already shoveled most of the roof with the help of two 12 year olds. I mostly supervised. Snow is so deep you can just jump off the roof.

Snow day. Was supposed to sub - unlike Kimbo I don't work, I don't get paid.

I shoveled some at 8 pm last night in case we had to get out this morning so only have half to do. Sunny and supposed to get all the way up to 33 (!) here today - hoping for some melt to help with rest.

Try getting on the roof old man... I was thinking about calling the fire department to help me get down. I am too beat up for this ****... subbing? Man you are a glutton for punishment. I am sure it is easy for you. We get such **** subs I have to threaten my kids with pain to make sure they are good. One quick elbow to the head of one usually works and the kid gets a nice nap.

I go out to open up weight room after school three days a week, figure I might as well go out a little earlier and get paid for it. Plus we need the money thanks to the Governerd.

Besides, only hobby I have is Football. What else am I going to do (after the laundry, dishes, vacuuming)?

Strangely haven't had one discipline problem in four years. And the Football kids seem to enjoy seeing me in school.

I'm smarter than to get up on the roof. Benefit of old age, Junior - wisdom comes from experience!

The rare occasion when there is a good sub they never have a problem. The good subs we have are all retired teachers. I think my new retirement plan is to move to florida, find an assistant job and do a little subbing if needed. I can't stand these winters. 12 more years.

Guys - let's disagree, but lose the name-calling and personal invectives.
Thanks.

I literally had to write a 12 page script for my subs. Now say, "Open your math book to page 242 and partner read the highlighted material with your neighbor." Now say, "Who would like to come to the white board and try the odd numbered problems?" Now say, "It's time for a bathroom break, please line up with a book, and walk quietly down the hall."

I once had a sub who couldn't speak English. He spent the day on the internet.

I don't think our district has raised sub pay in 10 years, so it's no surprise that getting qualified people in tough environments is difficult.

However, if you're good you get the plumb jobs in the best schools and they'll be fighting over you.

Does anyone know what the "supermoderator" is talking about? I read trough the last few pages and I don't see anything that we don't see here every day. What did I miss?

Well, I'm sure "someone with a lot of bitterness and time on their hands" once again complained about one of my posts, wouldn't be the first time but I need to stop that and abide by the rules. So it's noted.

Thanks for taking the time and slowly, patiently explaining it for Flush, Hoople. I can't bridge that gap he and I have very well.

I understood it DB... but thanks for taking the time to allow Hoople to re-hash an already dead horse. I could care less if our f$%%ing coach wore a damn clown outfit, and was on youtube every week dancing and creating game day atmosphere if he was winning games. This is where you lose me DB... you claim you hate this guys antics.... if he took us to the MACC and then followed it up with a Bowl win I just can't wrap my mind around anyone wanting him to take off... and leave us BACK AT SQUARE ONE AGAIN! Sure... he might do that regardless... but to outright claim you would cheer for the departure of a winner based solely on your personal disdain for the guy seems a little short sighted.

Bobby Petrino slutting around with some intern and crashing his bike with her on it while on the job at Arkansas was embarrassing. PJ fleck shouting RTB and showing enthusiasm for the program he's trying to build isn't all that bad. Lets grab the reigns of perspective here people.

God you're an idiot.

Look stooge, he wins, he leaves. I'm hoping he wins. We can't control anything else, and that's the long and short of it.

When he leaves, I'll personally be happy, but that's not tied or decoupled from the fact that he's not sticking around a MAC program if he wins big.

My worst case scenario is that he takes the four years left to build up a winner, doesn't really get there, and we're stuck with his azz clown talk for the duration and head metro boy gets an extension, and I'm stuck going back each year and listening to you humps fawn over what a pretty guy he is and how great his enthusiasm and talk is for WMU. That would make me want to hurl.

He IS pretty, isn't he? 03-cloud9

I've suspected when I hear the fawning that is why so many are enamored with him so DEEPLY....... NTTAWWT.

I personally didn't find anything "moderator" alarming about any of the posts in this thread. DB and I got into it a bit, but thats nothing new. I personally wasn't offended or bothered by the interaction... I would actually be put off if we were to be continually patrolled by the web police for similar commentary.

I agree, but you know there are "people out there" with a lot of time on their hands and love to play games. Kind of reminds you of when we were kids in grade school and someone would ask who put the funny drawing on the board after doing it to attract attention after everyone ignored it for two hours?

As opposed to those who only have enough time on their hands to rack up 30,000 posts.

Using the post total as a critique for someone here is like being in a pool with someone and saying, "ha ha, you're swimming". 01-wingedeagle

Nearly as stupid as having 3x the posts of anyone else and saying other people have too much time on their hands.
