GameDay: Toledo
The game is 'pick em' in Vegas. Opened with EMU as a slight favorite - now there is no favorite.
http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-bask...las-vegas/
I bet if there was a poll on the main MAC board to pick a winner, the overwhelming majority would pick the Rockets.
I say: EMU 69, Rockets 67.
We don't 'dismantle' the Rockets but they have a hard time getting off the launch pad...
I believe UT does well behind the arc but so does some other MAC teams we've beaten.
No way does UT put up 75 or 80 points against us.
I put the 'over/under' on the crowd at 1,550. I assume 2nd largest crowd of the season, only behind 'Kids' day game.

BTW, for those interested. Here are the Sagarins. They recommend using the 'predictor' values for predicting outcome of games.
As one can see with a 3.16 home court advantage, we'd be a fraction of a point fav over the Rockets.

RE: GameDay: Toledo
Is this quote from a Bobcat illustrative of what we might see (w/ GB III vs. Witherspoon):
"Ndour, who also pulled down 12 rebounds, said after the game he “knew the guy guarding me wouldn’t play no defense.”
If he hasn’t already done so, Kowalczyk will challenge J.D. Weatherspoon with reminders of Ndour’s insult. Taylor also delivered a jab, suggesting Brown “took a play off” in overtime that resulted in a five-second call against the Rockets.
“We’ll come out and play some good defense,” Brown said. "

RE: GameDay: Toledo
We haven't given up 80 points since Duke. I highly doubt Toledo gets to that number. They shoot it ok from outside, but Juice jacks up the most and he doesn't have that great of a percentage. A lot like DJ Cooper...if he's taking deep 3's, that's a good thing for us.
For us to pull this one off, we HAVE to take care of the ball. Toledo wants to run, just like we do. And that's fine, but limiting our turnovers and forcing them to beat the zone is our best chance. Someone needs to have a "big" game scoring. Be it Lee, Ward, Talley, or even Combs. We just need a guy to not be afraid to put this team on his back if he has to when the offense inevitably gets stagnant. Maybe it's Lee again, who's confidence should be at an all time high. I'm hoping it's Ward. He needs another "Purdue game".
I think we do just enough to steal one with some clutch free throws at the end from Daylen.
EMU 65
Toledo 63

Not surprisingly, there is not one mention of this game or the HOF ceremony in the Ann Arbor "News". No media means fewer fans.

Since they use blue and yellow as their main colors is it any wonder, I am just surprise they don't root for Toledo since they are the same basic colors!

Losing to Toledo in FB might have hindered that.

We are out number 2-1 by Toledo. Very sad I told you people those 2 home loses would hurt. There's not 100 students here!

Re: GameDay: Toledo
The high school where I graduated puts more fans and students in the seats... I'm more disappointed in students not showing up. Hell we had a game here against Saline and had a larger student section.

We're like the little girl with curls, "when we're good, we're really good. When we're bad, we're..."
Today our defense was awesome.
Riley had a super, super game...

RE: GameDay: Toledo
We just blew out the top team in the conference. What a game!
Riley was a monster. Easily the player of the game. How many points did Toledo score inside? Not many that I can recall.
We forced turnovers, we made free throws, and we kept attacking. I couldn't ask for more.

Chad just said 32 - 8 in the paint.
Toledo was deathly afraid of Riley. They were a complete non factor inside.
I'll check UT's treys, but they didn't get it don't inside the paint or even the arc.

BTW, Sims presence is a +. Wish we had had him in those tough losses to OU and Akron.
